I noticed the *** thing yesterday trying to comment on an HA post. I edited the post 3 times thinking I was doing something wrong. FInally I changed it to NC. I'm a slow learner.

ugh!
I was in the middle of my export and I thought to myself....'self, you should re-sign your vets to new contracts.' It turns out that Jim has changed the way contracts are done in season. i.e. players get paid game cheques. So even a guy who wants millions less base salary, his game cheque no longer fits under the damn cap.
that said, had I re-signed newly acquired Joseph Schaeffer to a new contract earlier this year, I'd have loads of cap space to sign other guys. As it stands now a cap cost of $5.5mil compared to $2.4 mil still does not do it for me in a re-negotiation. dammit. If Kao sticks around, I'm playing with fire.
