Im okay with once a week and enjoy the sunday gameday aspect.
How about HA doing a magazine? Im sure people would contribute. Publish it every wednesday with a mix of history and current events. That would give you plenty to do at work. You could have weekly columnists. Can you imagine articles by Suicane? The possibilities are endless.

The reason we don't debate it is mainly because, and not to sound like an elitist dick, but it really isn't up for debate.

Yes the creator of the league stepped down, but his reasons for wanting a 1 game week are the same reason Jeff and I decided to take over. I can almost guarantee you that if this was a 2 game a week league that Jeff would not have taken over. I assure you that I would not have.

There are a ton of leagues out there to satiate your MP needs if this pace is too slow and you want an addendum to your MP life.

And really, you can add as many games as you want, people that arn't talkers arn't gonna become talkers just because the pace moves quicker. I honestly get the feeling that it's the pace that's bothering you more than the lack of chatter, and that's cool but that's sort of just how this league is run, and that isn't gonna change.

Like I said earlier, things generaly start slow, then we have a few double weeks, then were in the stretch run and boom, it's playoff time. Even in the playoffs there isn't much chatter outside of the teams involved. You can't force interaction, but at the same time I believe that slow pace contributes mightily to investment in ones team and gameplanning, which makes the competition stronger, especially at the end.

I appreciate your dillema, i really do, but as I said, running a league is not easy and this is the way the league was founded and this is the way the people running it want it to be, everyone who has joined or will join is made aware of that.

When I'm on vacation, I'd love for the league to sim once a day.. during the rest of the 48 weeks of the year, I can do a few two-game weeks, but I'm not sure I could handle that every week. I basically have activities every weeknight in one way or another (hockey games, friends, pub etc).. I can't install FOF at the office though, so my only interaction with the league on weekdays is basically through the board (though I admit I'm not a very good poster).. I'm currently working on a video though, but since I can seldom put in more than 20 minutes here and 30 minutes there, a one-game video usually takes a week to produce..

Also, while I can't say for sure, I would assume that 1 or 2 multiple game sim weeks will be added to the schedule when Jeff can sit down and figure a schedule out.

Suicane pretty much covers it for me. Adding a 2nd game each week IMO would make the league less colorful - it'd just be more games and the same amount of participation. Offseasons would occur that much faster and I think some guys would get worn down.

What I'd like to see is more writing. With the exception of a couple of media members, writing is at a league low. I'm sure part of the reason for this is the time of year and it also a few guys have a lot on their shoulders at the time being.

I have no problem with throwing up a poll just to appease you though - I did this when I initially took over I think. Two games a week will get shot down quicker than Suicane in a night club.

If some of you long timers here remember, I was all over Cring to do 2 game weeks at the start. But over time, I realized how much I love the one game a week schedule. It allows me the time to do other things in my life, and espically since the 07' upgrade, I am learning the game all over again.

Plus my girlfriend and I are having a great time posting pics on X-tube!! No, not me fools, her....Anyone interested can message me for the link....haha...

Tonight's midweek will be done at 9 pm central as usual. Next week my schedule will change and I should be able to move up any night sims to 7 pm central (which is noted in the new reference thread).

also, thanks for the poll, if this is what the league wants then i have no prob. i just don't like fascist gestapo nonsense where debate and ideas are quickly shot down. if this is what everyone prefers then i'll just hope you schedule as many 2 game sim weeks as possible. thanks again.

while i don't see the need for a poll every season, it wouldn't be a bad idea to take the pulse of the league every so often to see if the sentiment changes.

how do you know if 1 game a week is still valid if we never talk about it? every time i bring it up it's "no, we do 1 game a week cuz the guy who started the league wanted it that way". i would have less of a problem if we talked about it every once in a while and everyone agreed to keep it as is. but we don't even allow debate.

I may be mistaken but I thought this was brought up last season as well, so to say it's never discussed I think is incorrect.

As for it being 1 game a week just because that was how the league started is also incorrect at this point in a way. I have no say in it anymore, and don't ask for any, but I think that the core of this league enjoys the 1 game a week and that is why so many guys would like it to stay that way.

As for me personally, if the league decided to go that way, I would find a way to make it work.

This is brought up every season. . .I still prefer one per week.. once in a while two per week. We have a great system, why mess with it?
