Also, anytime you're holding a team to "only X" yards to 'this point' in the game expect that to more than double on a single play very soon.
that aspect is one of the serious flaws with the game.

What a douche bag the Texas GM was. Glad Jeff took care of that BS.

On a side note, Fogarty has looked good so far and the defense is playing up to their potential even without Hood.

I don't buy into it at all. Never have. That's something you would put into an arcade racing game, not a football sim.

I did notice in the first few seasons that teams were catching up to me in the fourth. Not because of some sinister code, but because my nickel and dime backs sucked. I also did not do anything with my gameplan on defense types.

So in the fourth, I would be stuck in a dime playing M2M with only 1-2 backs that could perform m2m. I switched it up a bit, almost eliminated my dime back until I picked up Tubbs, and switched to a primarily zone coverage. In the past couple seasons, I don't remember a last drive loss at all. I think I cracked in the fourth a couple times, but not because of the code, because my pass D has holes. 5WR vs Zone? That seems realistic to me. Here is an example:

1-10-WIC01 (4Q: 00:57) Winston Scott pass fell incomplete, intended for WR Tyler Conners. DE Ron Escalera hurried the quarterback into a bad throw. The defense looked very familiar with that play.
2-10-WIC01 (4Q: 00:48) Winston Scott pass was dropped by WR Simon Thompson. The defense looked very familiar with that play. The quarterback threw into double coverage.
3-10-WIC01 (4Q: 00:40) Winston Scott pass fell incomplete, intended for WR Doug Clemmons. CB Bryan Collins defended the pass. The quarterback threw away from the double coverage.
4-10-WIC01 (4Q: 00:31) Winston Scott pass fell incomplete, intended for TE Kurtis Diep. S Franklin Trigg simply crushed the receiver as the ball arrived. The defense looked very familiar with that play. The ball goes over on downs.
1-1-WIC01 (4Q: 00:22) Sammy Mathews dropped to one knee for -1 yards.
For those of you who say it's there, I challenge you to go back and look at all the games you played where you were up by a score with 2min left and count how many you lost.

I would say that it is less than 20%. You just remember the 20% because they suck. Also, in those situations, what D were you in? What O did they come out on? Compare the QB/WR to the back that picked up the tackle? Was he in BnR, which is his worst attribute?

it's easier to suffer 4th quarter comeback losses in FOF2k7 because the game puts you in goalline formation at midfield.

its been a few days now but my comment wasnt based on being held by the opposing defense...it was how the game was a defensive struggle and we had a good lead until all the sudden they turned the corner offensively late in the game and scored the points to win....call it what you want...i just dont like the way games change drastically late in the game...you dont play good defense and stifle people for 3 quarters and then have the wheels fall off...yes it happens in the NFL some...just not as frequent as FOF...we all play with the same game...i just wish it was a little better in this regard...it just feels like madden sometimes with the old AI catchup fumble results...

That's the problem. I don't buy into the late game code. . .

In theory, in a defensive struggle, where one big drive is the difference maker, there is a slightly greater chance of the drive coming in the fourth quarter because more plays are called in the 4th. There will be a slight increase, but I havn't seen any evidence of catch up code. Madden is an arcade game, and has something like that, but not a football sim.

                            no..its not one big drive...

1st half LRK had 7 possessions...6 three and out and 1 for 7 plays...totals were 25 plays for 60 yds...

2nd half LRK had 6 possessions (not counting the final kneel play) and there were 28 plays for 173 yds and 3 scores and 3 punts...

at halftime we lead 10-0. with 8 minutes in the 3Q LRK scores to make it 10-7. with 3:00 in the 4th Q LRK hits a FG to tie the game. and at 1:00 or so to go hits the game winner...its not the loss...its not the overall stats or performance...its the bogus Jekyl and Hyde 1st half versus 2nd half..

The same thing was happening to me in th efirst few seasons. I assumed, that when that stuff was happening to me, it was the game plan and personnel assignments. Sure enough, my nickel and dime backs sucked. I quickly found I was better off leaving my LBs in, and a couple of seasons later, I am in better position to defend against the pass late in the game.

I also found I was getting burned consistently on BnR. Guess what? My BnR sucked bad. I still may get burned in the fourth every once in a while, but for the most part, I can hold. It's when I get behind that I have problems with now.

I also noticed that 2k7 has a box for when to give up on the basic gameplan for a tied score x amount of minutes into the game. What does it use then? This scares me. Anyone?

An extremely good half defensively, and nowhere near one you can count on having, especially on the next half - making lightning strike twice in a row.

A much more realistic half as one would expect, if not slightly high on the scoring.

I don't see anything odd here other than the 1st half being extremely out of the ordinary good for the Outlaws defensively.
