Good grief, great game Steve. I'm speechless right now. I took a big risk and switched up my offense and it paid off, we caught Houston's defense expecting the run quite a bit, but whenever we put a drive together we'd have a penalty kill us. I banked on the fact that he would load up against the run, and that we'd be able to make some headway against their secondary if we had 3 WRs on the field. That was right to an extent as Gaylor had a pretty big day.

I can't complain about the INTs that Hickman threw because they basically amounted to punts and I would have done the same thing in both situations. But holy crap that was a great game!

We could have had two MVPs, Wortham's INT was huge. But it all would have been for naught had Hickman not taken us downfield at the end.

How fitting is it that NFK and HAR play for the AC Championship? I won the two previous games, but this one has far more riding on it than either of the other two. The series is tied 7-7, who is going to win their 8th game?

Damn. Huge turnover for Oakland but Pitts defense is manly on the goaline.

          14-3 Pittsburgh after 1, they're lookin strong.

          Huge answer drive for Oakland.

Another turnover for Oakland, this one leads to a go ahead TD and suddenly it's very much a ballgame.

Devils now up 8 to start the 4th quarter.

          HUGE unsportsmanlike penalty against Pitt.

Geez Louise here we go again.

"Tank" Allmon and McCrary make a statement this week for teams trying to run on us with a combined 22 tackles 7 assists and and 1 pick. Hamilton shows all this talk about this guy and that guy for MVP is a laugh with another clutch performance under pressure on the road in a playoff game.

One of the real hero's of the entire season has been kicker Dave Jordan, who has been nearly perfect this year. 21/24 during the season and perfect in the postseason, going 2/2 at Little Rock and 3/3 this week at Pitt. How this guy wasn't given a lick of credit for the yearly awards is laughable.

Good game Pitt. Just like in real life, this rivalry is turing out to be a monster. This year we just had your number. Our second ever trip to the Conference Championship game. We all know what happened the first time around and the team is pumped.

                  Jeff

A game for the ages. Caro was awesome, got MVP in a losing outing ... and also player of the week.

But I'll always be happy with good ol' reliable Finger ... he had another solid performance. The running game kicked up a notch for us which I had hoped it would ... but I was not expecting that Book would reel off some of the touches he got. Defense was again not very stellar but again it was up vs. the future MVP of the league.

Now on to the Vipers FIFTH straight trip to the CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP. That record will stand for a long time and is a fitting way to close out FOF2004.

Opponent in the champ[ionship game is archrival & division mate - Hartford. The Grizzlies won both games vs the Vipes this year ... but this is the game that counts!

                    Grats WH,

I didn't want to say it before the game because I don't like to talk much about games for fear of giving anything away, but I was dreading facing you. You're a really tough GM to gameplan against because I know you know my roster probably as good as I do. I also know you like to switch things up a bit, so it's really hard to know what to expect. I found a few weak spots in your defense and tried my best to exploit them, and think I did pretty well there.

I also knew if I made one mistake against you, it would screw me. Luckily I got by with my defense gearing up against the run (luckily), but my biggest mistake was not setting it to run more with the 4th qtr lead. That pick towards the end hurt quite a bit as we probably should have sealed the game there.

I have no complaints how my team played, everyone did what was expected of them, but the better team won today. Grats and good luck the rest of the way.

Here's some box score fun from Lawrence-Lansing:

                      3Q: 02:24 LAW - Dana Glover 104 kickoff return.
3Q: 02:24 LAW - Tyrone Stickney extra point.
                      3Q: 02:07 LAN - Lionel Childers 95 kickoff return.
3Q: 02:07 LAN - Harris Sanderson extra point.

Nothing like spotting each other points.

Oakland's hot. I was positive the conference was Lawrence's, but I give you every chance in the world now Jave. Congrats and good luck to both you and Jester.

                        Hartford and Norfolk. Veryyyy Nice.

Good game to cap a great season, Morellomre! I was very worried about this one.

Houston/Hartford was definitely one of, if not, the best IFL playoff games ever!! Amazing finish!!

Congratulations rook. You're right about that conference game record standing for quite a while.

I hope for your sake the game is entertaining. I don't understand the hype around Oakland. I'm expecting an easier time than the last victory, which I had to get without "The Beav"!

When all is said and done and I blow by you and whatever sacrificial AFC offering is on the slab for the IFL finals I will again point to Lansing and say "that was the team that scared me."
