TRIVIA BYTES SUPER SEVEN - Week 10

Friday the thirteenth  What evil is in store for teams not prepared this weekend?

    GET OFF THAT TRAIN

 #7 - Pittsburgh (6-2) at Dakota (3-5) . Both teams got on the wrong train last week - the train to no-where, no-win. Pittsburgh can't afford another ticket to this desolate location as they try to stay ahead of Madison and Lansing . Dakota can be dangerous if they turn on the right spickets and look to avenge a earlier loss to the Power.

 #6 - Cleveland (4-4) at Anchorage (5-3) . The Lynx have lost two out of the last three and the Claws have lost the last three. Clearly, both teams need to get off their current ride, and get on a train headed in the right direction. As it now stands, it looks like both of these teams will be out in the cold once playoff time comes around. This is the week for one of these teams to point out that just might be a little premature.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
ANOTHER TICKET ON THIS TRAIN, PLEASE

 #5 - Madison (5-3) at Reno (3-5). Reno, after wins vs Lansing and Dakota, like the train that they have recently boarded. Madison will try to find the same connection that it has found for four out of the last five weeks. Madison is much healthier and should be able to represent their lofty #8 ranking very well. We just like to point out that the Wolfpack knocked off Lansing two weeks ago and only lost to Oakland by one the week before ... so we wouldn't be to quick to mark up another win for Madison just quite yet!

    ------------------------------------------------------------------
ALL ABOARD - SOME GOOD FOOTBALL HERE

 #4 - Portland (8-0) at California (4-4) . A game that you just throw out the records, the hype, etc. etc. ... and just sit back and let the trash talk frame the pre-game festivities. This will be the second time that these two teams will face each other this season and there is no love loss between them. The Seals have yet to be tested this year and parade their gaudy 8-0 record around like peacocks. An upset, by the Heroes, will make California's season and birth an unbearable oral belittlement for the Seals. Portland has been flawless in their gameplanning whereas California has openly admitted not to understand the logic of Jim's game. The Seals just hope that the random buttons that the California organization push for this week's strategy isn't a lucky dagger in the heart combination.

 #3- Little Rock (5-3) at Columbia (4-4) . WOW - a game that has all the hype. A win by Columbia and the Fire vault to leading the NC South. A loss by Little Rock and the Toads drop from 1st to 3rd. A do or die game? You bet! Columbia is riding high after beating Newark and Tulsa in the last two weeks. Little Rock stumbled vs. Orlando last week but QB Ralph Given should return this week for Little Rock. This has been a great rivalry with Columbia leading 9-6. We think that this will be another classic meeting of these two teams.

 #2 - Lansing (5-3) at Oakland (6-2). The games just get better! Two playoff hopefuls square up in another :shoot: match. Lansing, however, needs to load their guns again as they have been shooting blanks for the last three weeks. The Devils, on the other hand, are locked and loaded and plan to dish out more of the same. They are on a three game winning streak. At this point in the season, the Ogres don't have much wiggle room in their division .... so, this a crucial cross road in their season. Oakland has been rolling comfortably along but has recently noticed that division rival, Salt Lake City, have finally found their dicks. This will be a great game.

    -------------------------------------------------------
THE GAME OF THE WEEK. A TRAIN COLLISION

:!: #1 - Murfreesboro(5-3) at Hartford (7-1) . Whether #1 or #2, the Hartford Grizzlies have come to play this year. After knocking off current #1 Houston a couple of weeks ago, they have had a week off to prepare for this week's game against another AC South power team, Murfreesboro. The Mules have also had a chance to rest this last week and they needed it. In fact, the Mules could use a few more weeks in order to get fully healthy.

What does this game mean for each? A win for Hartford adds hype to their showdown with Norfolk next week but does not necessarily assure them of division supremacy. On the other hand, a win does preserve their perfect play in the conference and it's not too early to be thinking about home field advantage in the playoffs.

Murfreesboro, ranked #11, is at a point that they must keep pace in order to challenge for a wild card berth. This is the time to gut it up and find a way.

The Grizzlies have the best 3rd down conversion rate in the league which is the result of the second ranked rushing offense. Their defense is the third best to limit 3rd down conversions by their opponents. The Mules also feature a powerful running attack and have the second highest yards per carry at 4.48. They own the highest turnover margin in the league and lead the league in fewest points allowed.

Both teams like the running game but also have very capable passing attacks. Both teams have stout defenses. This just looks to be a huge collision of two giant locomotives.

Gotta agree with Trivia Bytes. The Mules could use a bonus Bye week for sure. Oh well play them as they are scheduled.

I can easily see us losing the next two games, especially with the injuries we have to key personnel. Still, I'm not giving up on this team, we'll be ready to play.

Just want to point out that we're only three wins behind the Snot Hunters, and could, at least in theory, still win the division.

This is going to be an interesting game this week. Again I struggle to field the minimum requirements for some position groups.

I need this game like no tomorrow. I need to have no one get hurt. Positive thoughts shall prevail

Had I been a mean person, knowing I'm not making the playoffs this year, I could have gone simply for "punishing hitters", knowing full that the only thing I could accomplish would be more Newark injuries..

Had I been.. hmm... maybe I should reconsider my gameplan
