TRIVIA BYTES SUPER SEVEN - Week 3
It was easy to preview this weeks top seven games. Three of the games fall in the Oh my God category. The remaining games feature eight teams in a long distance race, all waiting to make that move and break away from the pack.
Lets preview the pack first. What qualifies one to be a part of the pack. DUH, all eight teams have records of 1-1. Losers remain in the pack. Winners take a defining move early in the season. Key games -- you bet!
 #7 Vancouver at Vermont. Three of the pack members are in the NFC West, Vancouver being one of them. After jumping on fellow division foe and also pack member Salt Lake City in week one, the the Killer Whales came up short against St. Louis (also in the pack) last week. The formula on how to stay in the pack: just win one, then lose one, then win one, then ... (I think you get the message). A team can earn honor points if they beat and lose to teams that are also in the pack.
 #6 Iowa at St. Louis. St. Louis got creamed by Houston but came back the next week in the fourth quarter to best pack member Vancouver. Iowa has a little better pedigree in that their sole loss is to the strong team from Pittsburgh. Both teams want to make that 'statement' that they are better than the pack.
 #5 Hartford at Wichita. These two teams boast that they are better than the pack. Hint, words don't count - results on the field do. Here's a great opportunity for one of these teams to show it.
 #4 Salt Lake City at Newark. Yea, take a good look at the names of the teams. Pack teams? One can argue that this is too early in the season to predict gloom and doom. BUT, the fact remains that both find themselves caught jockeying for position. A loss will be devasting to either team and put a definate shadow on their division championship dreams. By Sunday evening, one will find some comfort room and the other will find itself still locked in the jaws of the pack machine.
Now to Oh my God!
 #3 Madison at Tulsa. Madison leads the league in sacks which has contributed to collecting the third most turnovers. They will need to continue this in order to cool the jets of Tulsa's QB Devon Taylor who has had 10 TD's in the first two games. Tulsa brings the number one rated offense, has the best third down completion % and has the most point scored. This should be a fun game to watch.
 #2 Lawrence at Pittsburgh. Both teams are unbeaten in two games. On the other hand, the skins on the wall are not all that an impressive. Opponent composite W-L records vs. both Lawrence and Pittsburgh are a miserable 1-3. Simply doesn't matter. This is a heavy weight bout that will come down to the last punch.
and the GAME OF THE WEEK really needs no props. Replaying last year's conference championship game of the AFC ...
bring on ...
 #1 Anchorage at Norfolk. Both teams have started as expected. Both lead their divisions, as expected. Steiner vs. Lozier ... the two QB's with the most wins in the league, Steiner with 69 and Lozier with 72. The Lynx add the number one running attack. The Vipers don't care about leading any category as their formula has been balance for years. But they do lead in one category -- the Vipers have had no offensive turnovers. There is a four game history between these teams. The Lynx have only one victory and two of their losses were in the playoffs. Do you think there is good blood between these two?
