Yours truly, Norfolk, in 2005, reeled off 10.
A bullet dodged for you. Our coach did a pretty nice job following the gameplan laid out for him this week. We played small ball and relied on our defense. This minimized QB mistakes and kept us in a close game. In fact we led at the end when you hit the FG under 2 minutes left. That was our death sentence. The rookie fill in couldnt lead a two minute drill to save his ass. Four straight incompletes and out.

Vermont runs right into the best interior line in the IFL 30 times, and naturally gets 5.5 ypc and 17 key run blocks. Vermont couldn't do anything wrong the first three drives of the game, Sepulveda was 13-27, but I swear he started something like 10-11.

Lynx only needed to go 42 yards for their first 17 points. Mules did fight their way back into the game at 17-17 to start the 4th quarter, but Anchorage had two huge TD drives to win the game late. Mules O was ineffective for the 2 drives that counted in the 4th.

Good game Lynx. I did think Anchorage would pass more but it was enough to win - lol

Great game plan for you. The difference seemed to be 'old man Cotter' filling in for Lozier. 75+% passes complete allowed for ball control and management of the clock. Three drives of over five minutes made the game somewhat boring but effective to win a close one.

I agree, this could have easily gone the other way. Thank God that Cotter has answered the bell for these past weeks. He can now retire back to the bench after leading the Vipers to three wins while Lozier was on the mend. He is definately not a stud but it was fun gameplanning with him, since he knows all formations known to the IFL world.

Sammy is like the Kyle Orten on the IFL. Nothing spectacular, but doesn't lose games. I just hope he doesn't have to play from behind.

I just hope I can keep this up. . .

I wasn't as impressed by Virgil as I usually am.. thought he struggled quite a bit.. real hero of the day for me was Sammy Kayser.. the fullback caught 5/5 passes for 80 yards and 2 TDs, and rushed for another TD, not to mention his 4 key run blocks. The man was our winner.

Of course, an undisciplined Pittsburgh helped a lot.. what have you been feeding these guys? I got 55 yards off of penalties.

But Mann really came out flying.. watching the game was a scary experience... I cringed with each new pass.. my secondary was getting hammered...

Winning moment of the game though, was David Sonnier's 101-yard kick off return for a TD..

Penalties hurt me, but obviously not enough to change the outcome. Sonnier return was a dagger. At one point we had two long drives, 120 some yards, and only 6 pts, and Vermont had 0 yards and 7 pts. Then they just drove right down the field a couple of times before my defense woke up. Brutal. I need to get those 4 defensive starters that were hurt back into the lineup, luckily the bye is coming up after Dakota.

Always my favorite game. Pittsburgh and Dakota. Haven't beat you yet. *spook* *spook*

Dakota took advantage of two fumbles in Phantom territory this week and picked off Lawrence three times in the red zone. Bend don't break defense continues to play well. Injured players are starting to return. Carmack went 132 yards rushing when he doesn't have to share the rock with Andrews. Andrews however broke one for 45 yards with only 4 attempts. Hooten was named player of the game with only 115 yards passing. Carmack isn't happy about it either. Gaston Williams a pick up from Lansing to replace the injured Camp caught 1 pass for 8 yards. grrr

Gah! Going down 10 points before the offense even takes a snap is painful!

The good: Our running game so far this year is incredible. I think we're averaging over 5 YPC as a team!

The bad: If we turn the ball over we lose.

The ugly: Our passing game. I just don't get it. We bring in better receivers, our QB is nearly fully developed, and we can't complete a damn pass. :?

I'm also trying to figure out why we went long 9 times in this game. We should have maxed out at 4 or 5 even if we were down. I gotta look and see what else was happening.
