  • We have a major problem...

Many of the trades that have been confirmed cannot be put through due to a log jam of salary cap problems. In order to re-sign veterans these trades need to go through OR the trades need to be voided so that I can make other arrangements before the Pre-FA stage export due tomorrow. Can we get a ruling from the commish? I also realize that I am in danger of losing trades from both sides because someone is waiting on me to clear cap room.

I just posted in that trade thread.

I think jumping out of a trade with guy for not being able to have a trade go through, when he has not been able to renegotiate yet this offseason, is a little harsh. We have a renegotiation stage tomorrow. Tuesday is FA day 1. Then there are almost 2 weeks of FA in which you can rework guys.

I understand that you may want to jump into FA on day one, but that is a risk you take. Guys being over the cap, and it preventing trades, is nothing new to this game. You can jump into FA on day 2 or 3 in a situation like this, after seeing everyone elses offers.

Now, I do not think there is a rule against a guy backing out of a trade before it is put through in the game. If you are that trigger happy then you are free to do that I guess.

I just feel you are rushing things a tad too much, especially when this situation was something you could have seen in advance.

Think it over, and do what you feel is best for your team though.

My main concern was losing the ability to re-negotiate with my own guys before they are offered to the rest of the world. But I think I took care of the problem by releasing some other contracts. I think we're good...but yeah...I was starting to panic.

I don't think your own FA's will sign with you anyway until a week is actually run by Cringer, but I could be wrong.

you're right. Cringer is not actually advancing to the next in game stage until Tuesday

UFA's, even if tey are your own, will not sign until FA day 1 is run. That is on Tuesday. I do believe your RFA's would, but there is no rush to sign those guys anyways.
