  • 2006 Owner Awards, voting starts now.

Time to start voting on the Owner Awards for the 2006 season. Here are the catagories, and maybe some guys I think you should take a look at (the front runners).

Feel free to use this thread to suggest a player you think guys should take a look at when they vote. You can pimp your own guys or other teams. Remember, you are NOT ALLOWED to vote for your own player(s). This is how we have done in the past.

Here are the award catagories, and just a few suggested players for each.........

Your votes are to be PMed to me. Deadline: Imperial Bowl, so two weeks.

    Most Valueable Player

Look at the areas for guys who are possible here. I take into account team record, and just how much I think that player holds that team up. Look at both offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

    Owner/GM of the Year

Once again, this can be based on whatever criteria you want. Team performance, adding stuff to the league like web pages, written articles, whatever. It is up to you. Once again, no voting for Cringer.

Maybe just me, but I think only guys at 4 years of experience or more should be considered. Many 3rd-year players are still growing and thus shouldn't be considered to be "breaking out".

Definitely pimp your own guys, especially for breakout player as they can be hard to spot.

I kind of like this idea. Use Carson Palmer as an example this season. Would you consider him a "breakout" player or someone who is now developed into his potential?

Not a bad idea. I will put that into there. I just considered it based on what he had done in previous years, but to have something as a cut-off line makes sense.

Yes, push your own guys if you think he is worthy. I may have overlooked some good candidates for each award. I tried to find all the top guys but there are a lot of guys to look at.

              /pimp on

For MVP, I'd like y'all to consider Virgil.. without him, Vermont is nothing. The man can pass.. he passes short, medium, and yes even long, with 22 TD-passes and only 10 interceptions.. well.. I'd take him over any of the QBs in the IFL. But Virge also adds another dimension to the Vermont offense.. he's a scrambler.. he's averaging 6.04 yards per rush, and has covered 393 yards this season.

              /pimp off

Really only 4 guys I'll consider for MVP:

                Steiner - ANC
                Sepulveda - VER
                Hamilton - OAK
                Booker - SLC

Virgil is a good example of a strong award candidate who I left off for some reason....

2nd in QB rating, 2nd in completion %, 7 games completing over 70%. He was very hot for most of the year. And his stats are for only 14 games, not 16, which should be considered some I guess.

                    Steiner is another.

This is why guys need to promote guys I haven't listed. The list is just a suggestion.

I agree with that.. like you mention, he ended second in so many categories.. he's just great overall.. without him, Vermont would have been a .500 team at best.. third and long and there's no one else I'd like to have calling my plays.

I'll pimp Daniel Currie RG for the Newark Bulldogs for breakout player. I traded for him as a guy I was hoping could help me out a bit. He ended up as my 2nd best OL this year.
40 KRB in 101 KRO with only 1 sack aloud.

I'd be down for that as a "test", guys would really have to pimp because thats not something easily found just by looking thru stats. If it gets enough participation I dont see why we shouldn't add it.

And I thought my league MVP would be settled yesterday, but it wasn't. I hate having to think so much.
                              I luv British womenz.
