In two threads I have seen Jave ripping on the Matador schedule, yet I am not all that impressed with the Oakland looking at it. I mean shit, the Assassins lost four games straight against Dakota, Pitt, Lansing, and Reno.

Maybe a team that loses to teams with losing records shouldn't rip on teams that win against teams with losing records.

 It's safe to say that I guess. I just don't think hawkster will drop out after this year.

ALB just reminds me of this year's Seahawks team. I'm not saying that you're not a good team, I'm just seeing that your record might be inflated because of your weak schedule.
I'd love to have your schedule. That being said, I'd still probably only have a few extra wins.

It should be a good test this weekend. I will be watching.

I thought I would bring back the "Bice is better then Rice" commentary. Seeing that I am a past Imperial Bowl champ, I have to give me some street cred here due to my team slowly eroding, I would say it is all speculative. When Orlando won the first year, besides some incredible good fortune, I think we had one guy go to the Pro Bowl. No 1000 yard WR's and average stats across the board, but we won. So, arguing how great a player is comes down to gameplan and coaching.

Bice is great with Oakland and was average before, but his team has not been to the playoffs yet. You can have an all out passing attack and pump up stats but if you cannot consistently win then your gameplan is not working and it does not really matter. Case in point, is someone like Archie Manning. He was great but the Saints never won so where is ranked in the pantheon of Hall of Fame QB's? Not very high.

So, Jave, if you do not start winning and taking down some playoff games then Bice's greatness will either be deemed average or wasted by poor coaching. That is not a shot at your gameplanning at all, but rather a window into how society judges greatness. We are a real league after all!!

Final note to Jave. You are really close to winning your division and almost guaranteed a playoff berth. Go graciously, or I predict any loss in the early playoffs and you will get buried as a fluke.

Orlando will be watching from the cheap seats and browsing Street and Smith's college edition, and looking at want ads for a defensive coordinator. Anyone see a 6'2" CB in the Florida area?

I well thought out, reasonable post.

But does Jave listen to reason? Not sure we want him to, things might be a little boring around here.

I agree. Hartford has always been a team predicated on defense, and has always had some very good performers on that side of the ball. When did we finally get a good number of them onto the All-IFL team? Last year, when we had arguably our worst year.

                    • Congrats Jave!! Your team was just too good for us this time. Perhaps we'll meet again in the play-offs.

Now on to the reigning champs....

WTF. Yea, good. I am not 10-2, pretending to be one of the leagues elite, while I beat up happless teams, and run the score up on others. Lets see, I am up 31-0 but I am going to pass the ball to make my wins seem more impressive!!!!!!!
Thats some college, "Lets get into a good bowl by smashing St. Marys Acadamy of Southwest Alabama to the tune of 77-0"!

Hell no my schedule isn't the strongest this year. GOOD. Did I not have the top 5 most diffucult schedule the last 2 years? Time for the Assassins to pack on some unquality wins. Pad my statitics! I have been in this league since the start, 4 seasons ago, and have been getting the crap kicked out me for 3 of those seasons, that started nearly 2 and a half years ago. I for one, am damn glad I have an easy schedule this year.
                        WOOT TO THE SCHEDULE GODS!!!

For once I agree with you, Jave. I mean I understand that it's difficult to pull off a lot of victories in succession

                          but

Your schedule is weak as I've seen.
Now would be a good time for Jeff to pull out one of his SOS.
                          AQU SOS = 18th toughest
                          OAK SOS = 25th toughest
