With the 27th pick of the second round, the Grizzlies select QB Deron Markel of Clemson.

I originally did not plan on taking a QB until late in this draft. With both Mueller and Hickman in the fold, I had two QBs I was confident I could win with.

However, after trading Mueller to Pittsburgh, a move I did not plan to make at first, I decided that the #7 QB on my board would be worth this pick. Markel is a boom or bust pick, but I think I could wind up with the steal of the draft if he booms...

Now let's hope the player I really planned on taking with this pick continues to fall.
