and people with charts forget the old time value of money adage. A 1st rd pick next isnt worth a 1st rd this year because of the 1 year of use in between for the player. Not to mention the uncertainty of whether its pick 1 or 32 in the rd. A lot of NFL teams view next years pick as one rd lower for valuation purposes.

Lots of rules of thumb but trading is not an exact science. Charts are tools for those trying to screw you in a trade involving players and future picks. They are worthless.
