  • 2006 Draft, 1st round.

Talk away, pick number one is in.

BTW, picks are made in the Roster Moves section, 2006 Draft area. Picks there, talk here.

Been tossing around what to do with my pick, but couldn't resist the urge to have another solid tackle to help my offense. Now the big question is, do I move him to RT to avoid any exp penalties, or take the exp hit and move Overton to RT.

When I saw that Murfreesboro picked up that tackle mentor in FA, I almost thought that they would do something crazy like pick Julio with the first pick!

I was starting to wonder at the last minute if they would throw that change-up at me, as I pretty much had Grant planned for the past 3-4 days now. I was also slightly expecting them to trade a little down knowing there is a good chance I wasn't picking Peterson.

I like Grant, though his volatility is scary.

I think the Mules had little choice but to go with Peterson. They need someone on offense to feature, in a bad way. He may not have a huge impact this year, but by the end of the season the Mules should have pretty close to a legit QB.

I agree, sadly for me (and the rest of our division) it was the best pick for that team. That guy looks like he is going to be nasty.

I will assume you mean nasty in a good way. You have to be careful when using that word talking about Murfreesboro....

Assuming of course they protect him. . .a dead franchise QB won't help them much. . . Willoughby must be confused though. Not sure if he should be sad that he lost his starting job, or thankful that he might live to see his 30th birthday.

He will get his protection. That Mule o-line is pretty good looking right now. And Willoughby was only sacked 21 times last year, that is less then half then the previous years. Now, put him on the Mules of '03, and the rookie would be renamed David Carr.....

It's REAL early so there's no surprise that we've seen two quality picks thus far. QB Otis Peterson was a no brainer at #1, IMHO. A safe and talented pick. T Julio Grant looks to have loads of talent and should help anchor the Houston line for many years to come.

C'mon, let's just get to round 2 already. I am going to be gone all day at my daughters softball game. I will be completely cut off from all things football.

Be prepared to test your patience, because the untimed part of the draft has become notorious for going extremely slow.
