You know I noticed that Crespo had a huge game and 2 huge fumbles. Bummer, but what the hell Christmas will take the gift and kick the field goal for the win.Originally posted by CringerNewark's super rookie is the goat.
Another big game, with 160 something yards. But he fumbled, for the second time in the game, in OT in Newark territory. Orlando boots the FG for the win.
Ouch Crespo, you gotta fix them hands man, you don't want to be Ahman Green......
Both Newark wins this year were won by 3 points. Can I move to a different division next year? The other wonderful thing is of course Vermont wins and we play them the final week of the season. You have to know that game is going to have it all hanging on the line. We have to win out for a shot a playoffs and to keep the division crown in Orlando where it belongs.
Last interesting note. Dewitt carries the ball for 34 times at an average of 2.9 ypc, and we win. Truelly amazing that when he touches the ball for 26 times or more we really do win. Out of 69 plays Dewitt accounted for 38 of them. He also had 161 yards of our 369 for the game. When he retires the fat lady has sung. Damn!!!

Yeah, but we have a chance to win it all next year over there! We've got a stacked offense, a loaded defense (reigning league #1 defense 8) and now we have an offense to boot!), and me calling the shots! :POriginally posted by CringerDrop that second rate league named after a waffle/pancake house and you would have more time.Originally posted by WarhammerBut part of that can probably be attributed to my lack of game planning as much as last year.
But I think that team is going to end up like we (Hartford) did last year, get all the way to the end and then lose. Plus, I actually have a REAL quarterback there.
The real challenge is going to be over here. I KNEW last year was our year to win, and hoped we could do some damage this year, but our offense has been too inconsistent. I think part of it is that I have been trying to get too cute running the football.

What a misery of a game. 6-3 win but i'll take it.
My QB is awfull and I don't know why, my ground game continues to grind it out no name backs. At least my defense returned to it's solid play.
It'll be a fun final 2 weeks against Vito and Cajun but if im gonna compete we need to get MUCH better. At least we have Felts and C-Dog back. Time to step up, something we havn't done much of in the latter stretches of the first 2 seasons.
LEAGUE NOTES
Looks like Little Rock & Vermont have seperated themselves from the pack for the NFC bye spots.
Pitt vs Madison in week 17 looks like it'll be for the North title and a playoff spot.
SLC, Orlando, Lawrence, Columbia & Reno are competing for 3 playoff spots, let the eliminations begin
WV holds serve and still has an edge over Montreal for the final AFC Playoff spot.
It'll be a wild chase for the #2 seed in the AFC as Iowa City, St. Louis and Louisiana are all still very much in the chase for that spot.
[/b]I luv British womenz.

It's nice to beat Hartford finally (on the 6th try)...
Originally posted by WarhammerWow, Hartford has all but been eliminated from the playoff race with a close loss at Boston. The passing offense was good, but the running game was missing something.
It is going to be an interesting off season in Hartford. An aging team that still shows glimpses of brillance, but then falls apart the next game. I wonder what would have happened had I stuck with Lucas at RT rather than moving to Hartman. Hartman is the long term answer but needs to develop, whereas Lucas is better right now. If it meant even a one game difference that would have been big.Boston Dragons

What a game. Crespo fumbles the damn ball in our end in OT. He had little support from his backups. Scott Nelson played a great game as did both Robey and Walker. Our defense got chewed up as both my top DE and LB got hurt. Looks like my first major injury of the year hit. My only good DE, Casey Fowler was carted off of the field with MCL tear. That hurts big time.
Good game ORL. You still own me. I can't figure it out. I did a lot of research on your team before the game and noticed your 3rd down conversion %. You guys did it again in our game. You got a great team there.NEWARK BULLDOGS WALL OF HONOR

We win again, nice game by the way Lansing. We control our own destiny for the division title. Problem is we play two tough teams in Montreal and Pitt in the season finale. This Montreal game will be a tough one on the road. If we can get by that team it creates a showdown in Pitt for the division.
Were just happy to actually have a shot at this thing. 7-2 in our last 9 games behind a rookie QB.2003,2004,2007,2008,2010,2013,2024,2025,2031,2037, 2038 and 2039 NC North Division Champions, 2012 and 2017 Wild Card

No luck involved this time Ragin' Absoutly handed the Mules their asses.
Looking at the stats you did what I expected you to do, what you always do - lol but I still could not get off the field on 3rd downs. On O the coaches did not at all do as I thought they would - should have been lots more Mendez but oh well.
Still 2 oppertunities to get another win dag'gummitsigpic

A great front page story about my boy Bradford, but I just wanted to point out that his performance in that game did one more thing: put the Firebirds on top of the league in yards per carry. That excites me almost as much as the win giving us officially our best season ever.
And now a game against Madison, in the same situation as us battling for the last playoff spot, hmm.....

That was the most frustrating win I have ever had. The Power offense was almost unstoppable, but we fumbled three times on the Dakota 20, once on the Dakota 40, once on our own 20, and lost all five of them. (Is there some stat that influences the chances to recover a fumble? I am 13 of 37 in fumble recoveries this year, 35%, which is statistically unlikely if the percentage is 50/50.) We outgained Dakota by over 225 yards and needed a late FG to win. Rodrigez busted out of his slump and ran for 200, and Woods had a big game with 7 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2 hurries, and a FF on the half sack that effectively ended the game.
Dakota and Lansing are officially eliminated from the playoffs.
If Madison and Pitt both win, both lose, or Pitt loses and Madison wins, then week 17 will be for the division title.
If Madison loses and Pitt wins, the division is the Power's.Los Angeles Matadors AC West Champs: 2037

Thanks man, but I think your team is young and on the incline while mine is old and on the decline. We have serious problems in the secondary, O Line and we need youth at the RB spot. At least we have a lot of money to play with next year. It ain't over yet.Originally posted by MattWhat a game. Crespo fumbles the damn ball in our end in OT. He had little support from his backups.
