Anybody besides me surprised that Loving didn't start for Madison?
no, it has been getting "reported" that Irby would probably be their starting QB atleast for the start. It was in the preview and maybe another place or two.
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.
Some miscellaneous observations as I watched some other games besides my own:
- SLC got lit the fuck up! Hamilton went 25-32 for 300+ and 3 TD (though he also threw 3 INT). This could be the first time ever that Jave will be able to show his face after talking trash.
- Iowa City appears to have cured the disease simply known as James Kroll as new-school IWC beat old-school Cleveland. Cleveland really needs to look back at the plan they had in place for the draft. They had other needs besides QB.
- BOSS, you little bitch! Irby, no Loving, no Irby, no Loving. Either the mofo was lying to me or he went back to Irby at the last minute. How long before he panics and goes back to Loving? Since I'm posting this I bet he waits at least another week.
I for one am grateful for the chance to take on Irby over Loving. I know its early but, its nice to beat the defending champions on the first week of the year. Carmack's value continues to rise 128 yards rushing. One of the plays of the game though was a Punt by Freeman before halftime out of our own endzone, marked out of bounds at the Madison 33. (Wow that's a long punt). Irby threw an interception on the next play and Cantrell took it the distance to put us up 24-3 before halftime. Then we just sat back and let Irby miss.

Yep, I saw that one. Pretty nice play.

If you didn't know already, the story is that I was pursuing Carmack as a backup in the 2004 offseason. Ended up getting too tight against the cap and I withdrew my ~600k bid. Fargo/Dakota got him by default and then he proceeded to boom. grrrrrrrr
At least I wasn't the only guy to pass on him and it's not like the signs were obvious. Anchorage drafted him and released him. Then St. Louis signed him and let him become a free agent.
Got run over by a train in Norfolk. I hate Week 1 games, can''t really game plan for anything.
That said, our playcalling on third down left a lot to be desired. Ran at least twice on 3rd and 3+ where I should be passing there... Still good game Norfolk you guys came out and made the plays.
So tell me how it works. Are you gonna worry about Telluride's schedule for the next four or five days and give your Grizzlies a break? Let me know if you want some gameplanning help.
I am glad we started out with a solid win, but it looks like Lawerence did not have his export in.
I'm pretty sure Jester got an export in on Thursday. You can't always go by Sunday's export numbers.
Naw I was going by the fact that he started Herndon over Stanfield at QB and Gaines over Schutz at RB. Both those players would have made a big difference. QB alone would have. Herndon is a 3rd stringer. Probably the same mistake I made last year by accidently leaving my starters out week 1. Dewitt remembered that game and went off this week for a little payback.

I suppose I could've looked at his roster. duh
I only did because I was shocked with a shutout against a solid team. I thought it would be a much tougher game.

I have to say I'm am very happy wwith the Chaplin era so far in Iowa.
Passing Att Comp Yards Yd/Att Long TD Int Sckd
16 Chaplin 18 11 224 12.4 82 3 0 1
I have to say my O-line is performing up to the potential that I envisioned when I drafted them.
Beamer is also liking the Chaplin Era, even though his total yards were not up there.
Rushing Att Yards Avg Long TD
42 Beamer 24 98 4.0 13 0
My D-line did all right, I should say better than usuall. . .
BTW I thought the outlaws were supposed to be good?
