Damn you Vancouver and Oakland, I had a good draft but so did both of you

Funny thing is I FORGET I drafted SS Shanahan and made no mention of him in my Season Preview

This is one thing I don't get about booms, why would anyone have any reason to believe that Shannahan would boom? He was average across the board.

That is kind of the point. You take a guy thinking you are getting some average-below average schmuck, and BOOM!

Exactly, I'm very happy about it because the weakness of my secondary is saftety so landing a guy in the 4th rounder that is 1st/2nd round quality is great for me. I REALLY needed a safety (even if I forgot I drafted him---I set my list list that day and went in to my studio to track).

My defense is going to be pretty good late next year

I'd like to see SOME reason for him to break out. Just a very good 40 time or something.

I picked him because he had High Test scores, decent 40, and a potential to be a huge run stopper (Collins was on my radar in free agency as you might recall) so I added him to my list.

Why did Brady break out? Montana? Hundreds of other guys who seemed average NFL players at best but ended up being good over the last 30 years?

What is it you want to see before the draft to give you hints he might be a breakout player? Combine numbers, just like in real life, should not mean all that much as far as overall playing ability goes. It is just an indicator of athletic ability.

nah, a jump of a point or two if that. if anything G wahl made a nice jump up 5 or so points, nothing major. 'A' in the draft review? id give myself a 'B+' personally, so ill take the generous A.

You didn't get that in the Sports Page draft review, do out shortly.

Now.. don't ruin my sudden feeling of pride and general geniussness.. I'm Swedish.. I know more about football than all of you!! ;-)

I all seriousness, since I didn't have a second rounder, I went for the option of filling backup gaps. I only had two guards going into the draft.. two good guards, but only two guards..

I think I lucked into my A with a boom that I really didn't expect, I just thought he would be a decent shot to make the conversion to DE. Kansas City Cajigal is now the second highest rated rookie DE, which means he would have been a top 10 pick. I hope that Cringer saves the draft review, because it could be the highlight of my season and I want to remember it.

Rob Richardson won't bust today. He could next season, or he could be injury prone, you never know.

But then again, maybe he will crush under the pressure of replacing a guy who took his team to the Imperial Bowl his first season.

Funny, I was looking strongly at WLB Lawrence Linthicum . I needed a LB and I'm pretty sure he was on my list.

                                Great pick
