Just curious on why the un-timed part is being dropped. I thought it went well last year. Something to do with the utility we will be using?

I think it has to do with the different servers. But I don't see the harm in starting it actually on the boards and not using the utility.Originally posted by BOSSJust curious on why the un-timed part is being dropped. It was scheduled to start Tuesday. We will see about doing that.
A couple guys didn't like the idea of the untimed part of the draft, because they wanted more times for trading and FA pick-ups. That was actually part of the reason, if not most.My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

A grand total of three picks were made during the untimed part of the draft last year. It has nothing to do with the server or the utility. We agreed upon it before, Cringer just didn't announce it for whatever reason. My reasons against it were that it puts pressure on guys to make picks when they would maybe rather focus on free agency and trades like the rest of everyone else. There's no reason to rush into the draft. It will take around a week anyways."Larry Deasoooooooooooooooooon" -- Phil Jenkins

And FWIW, technically Lansing could make there pick right now if they wanted to - or at least they could make an announcement. I'd strongly advise against that, but what is to stop anyone from making their intentions known?"Larry Deasoooooooooooooooooon" -- Phil Jenkins

That right! Jave took his two guys early and it just came to a complete halt.
I still think it worth a shot to try it again. The message board has been very active past few days.2003,2004,2007,2008,2010,2013,2024,2025,2031,2037, 2038 and 2039 NC North Division Champions, 2012 and 2017 Wild Card

He and the former Portland owner were recommendations by me (as were the Beasts). I'd love to see us try it again (the untimed draft) as killing it because the Pittsburgh owner sucked-ass (sorry James) may be a bit rash

But why? We've already got 10 days to finish the draft. The way that the schedule is set up, we will get the first five stages of free agency done before the draft commences. To me, that's where we want to be when Lansing begins their time on the clock.Originally posted by VitoStallionI'd love to see us try it again (the untimed draft) as killing it because the Pittsburgh owner sucked-ass (sorry James) may be a bit rash
Really though, why do you guys want to start so early? I haven't seen any actual argurments for it. Just seems like everyone is a little antsy."Larry Deasoooooooooooooooooon" -- Phil Jenkins

What we need are more anonymous sources that take themselves seriously unlike the black porn star and the guy whose grammar is equally as bad as Suicane's. Maybe then guys wouldn't be afraid of sharing their "outlook" of things.Originally posted by Hammettwhat we need is a good mock draft"Larry Deasoooooooooooooooooon" -- Phil Jenkins

For me I think it is part antsiness, and part the fact that the first half of the first round is the most important and the area where you might see the most trades with teams gunning for specific people. If there is more time, more people might make trades to move up a spot or two or 10 if they see that the guy they really want is still on the board. Just makes it more interesting IMO, but it's not imperative and I can see how someone picking in the late twenties wouldn't be that interested in it.Originally posted by sovstarReally though, why do you guys want to start so early?
