Question: are there an unrestricted free agents yet? or due to the fact that the league is still young, no one has built up enough playing time. If they are unrestricted how is it designated?

(I'm debating about whether I need to renegotiate now, or can I wait until after the draft and still re-sign players before training camp.)

Any player with 4 or more years of experience needs to have their contract extended in one of these next two exports or they will become an unrestricted free agent in 2005. Remember you will have a chance to franchise one player, restricted or unrestricted.

Players with less than 4 years experience will become restricted free agents. You will have exclusive negotiating rights with them up until training camp. At that point they will become unrestricted.

So get your renegotiations in by

    10 am Saturday

    and/or

    10 am Sunday

For made up leagues, you just have to assume that the league was playing in prior years, so for instance in the first year of the league a guy with 10 years experience has to be assumed to have played 9 years already in some league in our Universe. Therefore he can become an UFA, even though he only has one year of expereince in our Universe.
