i generally dont care for the automated drafts. Always willing to test a new interface like this one. So that should be translated to relunctantly willing to test VPI's utility..

What do you care for then? There are no time limits built into VPI's utility as I've mentioned a couple of times now, so it's not automated. What the util does is it allows guys to make draft day trades easier AND use nifty preference lists.

Maybe you just don't care for that stuff as it may not affect you, but I sure as hell do. Those preference lists are going to be vital to some guys and vital to the overall speed of the draft. In case you didn't notice last year, some guys couldn't be bothered to check in once a day or once every two days.

Ease up killer. I said it pretty clearly that Im willing to try whatever we have particularly since it is different than the warroom. The warroom stunk and was hard to administer. My point is I will do whatever because Im around. Too often we look at these tech items as our salvation and some do more harm to the process than they do good.

Since I appear to be so damn dumb tell me why this is better than a board draft with a time limit for each pick and once time expires a team slides a few spots.

I'm shortening the response I just typed up because it's obvious you haven't been keeping up with what has been discussed to this point..

Last year's draft was a fucking nuisance. I know that you'll be available and I'm grateful for that, but the fact of the matter is that there were a handful of guys that made things a nightmare last time. You didn't notice because you didn't have any responsibilities last year. I'd be willing to guess that around 25-33% of the guys in the league currently could only check up on things once or less a day.

No I did notice them and I understand your issues. Im all for trying out the new utility and will judge it once we have used it. My point is that all the cool utilities in the world dont make those guys better owners or any easier to deal with in the grand scheme of the draft. We are actually more closely aligned on this than our posts indicate.

Probably. I'll admit that I'm being a little defensive of the util, but it's because we've been blessed with it and I've got no fear whatsoever that it will disappoint like TredWel's war room deal did. I'll go ahead and say something that wandered upon my mind today and I fully believe it.

To me, this upcoming draft will mark what this league is all about and what it may become. Cringer and I are gonna lay out exactly what the procedures are going to be and what needs to be done to make this draft run smoothly. I truly hope that we will all be on the same page and that each owner can be confident with everyone else's dedication to the league.

Im with you my man. Just a skeptic. My catch phrase for techie items is show me the money. It is always great to get a new toy that works like planned.

We used this with the RNFL (not the exact util but something pretty close )and it was absolutely marvelous. Do I have the #20 or the #26 pick?

No. That couldn't be done until the server change was complete. I will let VPI know to go ahead and hopefully he could get to it Monday.

Everyone be prepared to do lists for the draft on the utility. I mean it mofo's!

We are NOT sliding picks this year. This utility gives you every chance to set up a decent list. If you miss your window for your pick, a pick will be made for you off of your list (if you have it filled out but not turned on to select for you), or you will have a player picked for you based off of your team needs as listed by the game.

We are looking at now starting the draft, untimed, on Wednesday. Then starting Friday we will start with the time limits. I hope to see you guys all do well during the untimed part, think of it as a test. Would be nice to see atleast the first round done when I got home Saturday.

I haven't finished making all the adjustments to the actual util. Im just waiting on a few things before I update again.

Ah. I see.. that's cool, just figured I'd point it out so that we didn't get to draftday and woops.. can't go on . Was worried there was an item-limit in the listbox.

Great stuff though.. great great util.. wish I had had something like that when I ran my hockeyleague.
