    GG AI,

We began our title defense with a solid 35-21 road victory. Whenever Montreal gets an owner, that GM will have a super star QB in Braxton Givgore to build around. Samuel Hillery and Givgore will no doubt have some epic division battles in a couple of seasons.

            GG Donlooky,

It was close the whole way through and you were able to get some big plays on us but our ability to hold you to FGs on six scoring drives proved the difference. Our offense was OK but not great, same as our defense and hope that was just a case of cobwebs.

We were outgained and turned it over more, but still beat those damn Lynx at their house to open the season. We'll take it.

Good to open at home. Crane played good enough to allow our defense and run game to win it for us. I was confused that the Stampede kept expecting pass coverage when we were trying to run the clock out. Offensive line looked good, and FS, Campana looks like a great FA pickup.

Good Game Steven...I expect a different result when we play in Calgary.

In the first half Vito and SLC made good on their threat, averaging more than 9 ypa (mostly on screen passes) and stifling our run game and keeping our allpro qb under 7 ypa with a pick however we had the lead at 14-13 in a ballgame due to our redzone defense was keeping us int it a SLC racked up 18 first downs in the first half. At one point they kicked from the 1 and the VAN crowd smilied to themselves, "silly americans".

After trading TDs early in the 2nd,, SLC tightened the D up a notch and were up 30-21 early in the 4th now having held VAN vaunted aerial attack to less than 5 ypa while putting up 10+ themselves. After we went 3 and out, SLC ground out a long drive going up 16 with less than 5 minues to go.

Hard to say if it was garbage time but our passing game cleaned up their stats marching down the field in under 2 minutes and even grabbing the 2 points. There was an onside attempt (why????!!!) with 2:39 left but alas it wasn't to be. We woudl get 1 last shot starting fro our own 26 with 2 timeouts left and just under 2 minutes to play however this time the SLC pass D held.

GG Vito, I defer to your genius I will have to study that gameplan of yours.

and Calgary gives zero phucks about that same gameplan just for the record ...they have swept us for 3 seasons I think.

Sounds like Montemayor's first half this week.

17/22 274 yards in the 1st half alone.
