Wowzers. 41-35 over a tough Newark team on the road! Now on to Little Rock!

Again, 13 years since we last won a conference semifinal game. There's a new era of competitive football in Calgary. We're not the doormats anymore...

      Holy cow, we beat Dakota!

GG DG although I'm sure that you are disappointed you have a great team and we were lucky to make some big plays in this one.

The Thunder got hot early and our defense played spectacularly well especially in the 1st Quarter: a pick 6 from CB Pedro Franz and a forced fumble and recovery by DE Mickey O'Donnell to set up another TD. There was the inevitable Montemayor rally in the 4th but by then the clock was working against the Spirit and we were able to run it out for the biggest win in franchise history since 2007.

Next up is the Conference Championship against StevenE's surging Calgary team which has the all the hallmarks of being a great game.

          GG BuddaKing,

Samuel Hillery came out firing the football to build a 31-10 IWC halftime lead. However, we gave most of that margin back primarily on turnovers in the 3rd quarter. Hillery then engineered a 65 yard, 9 play drive to get the lead back to 10. We hung on for a close 3 point win.

Congrats on a fine season, winning a 4th consecutive AC West division title.

With the high scoring Beasts coming to town, we need to clean up those turnovers. GL FrozenFlame (just not too much).

This is just great! 22 years without a championship, and the new guy walks in, turns the team around, wins our division and probably goes to the Imperial Bowl. :P

One step at a time. We have to win the conference championship first. Huge game ahead of us.

It's a longshot but I'm hoping for a repeat of the result from the last time we played...in case you forgot, it's right here. :-)

                        sorry for the late reply.....

I was a little pissed off to say the least. not gonna lie, i thought we would win this one and move on. I absolutely never expected to lose. Then the game started. We couldn't stop anything in this game. it was painful to watch. Too many damn injuries this year to key starters caused a lot of issues. we were the best team in the league at the beginning of the season, but couldn't maintain.

really happy to see calgary move on. Being Canadian, it does mean a lot to me that we have canadian content in the league, and it also makes me happy when they do well. add in to the mix that i love when new guys come in and do well..............it is all meant to be.

congrats to you and wish you the best moving on. We will be back contending again next year.
