Prices dropped. Would also be interested in a similarly rated LT, so if you have someone you're considering cutting...

WR Shane Thompson, 38/38, 3rd year
    Looking for a 7th rounder

    G Don Gamble, 40/40, 5th year
    Looking for a 7th rounder

DT Fernando Greer, 44/44, 7th year
Mentor good run defense and pass rush strength bars.
    Looking for a 7th rounder

CB Herman Patton, 36/36. 8th year
Getting older, but still has strong bars in all three pass defense skills. Would make a good dime or nickelback. Looking for a 7th rounder.

    S Alex Moses, 3rd year, 25/48, 3rd year
    Looking for a 7th rounder.

Just a question. Are players that were just signed in FA allowed to be traded the same year?

You know, I put this together pretty quick and actually didn't pay that close of attention to the guys who I signed as FAs. I'd be just fine pulling them off if anyone has any issue with it. I can see the precedent that could set for buying and trading big-name FAs.

Tag and trade is something totally different than signing someone else's FA, then trading him for draft picks. I was in a league before where a 70 rated WR hit free agency, the best team in the league signed him to a contract, then turned right around the very next stage and traded him for (3) 1sts. As you can imagine, half the GMs in the league were in an uproar, and immediately a rule was put in to prevent that from happening again. As a matter of fact, the game actually gives you a warning/prompt letting you know the player was just signed by that team that off-season, before trading him to another team.

Okay, I removed the couple FAs I had on there. Block is up to date.

I just want to point out that there is no rule against putting a recently acquired FA on the market. You have too eat any CAP you invested in the player and all the other team ramifications (leadership, cohesion, ect...)

Who cares what people do with their FA signings?

Obviously, I must be the only one. It goes to the integrity of the game. Sorry if you can't see that. There's a reason it's coded in the game that you get a warning that a player was just signed through free agency when he's being traded the same season. I don't see how anyone would not be upset, if for example, Lawrence signed a 75 rated WR in free agency, then turned right around and traded him for (3) 1sts. The rich get richer. It doesn't happen in the NFL. I thought the purpose of this was to simulate that. Again, sorry if you or anyone else doesn't see the issue with this.

So why dont the poor teams with all the cap room pay for the reciever to begin with if his value is 3 1st rounders? Rich get Richer? Could Lawrence even afford to take the lost cap hit from doing something like that? I dont even think he can afford 3 1st rounders anyways. I dont see the massive exploit in trading players that are yours no matter how many years they have been on the team. If a team wants the guy bad enough pay him the money in free agency and be done with it. dont go complaining later that you lost out on him and now he is on the block and you shoulda been able to sign him for your lesser offer. Pretty sure you can find some examples in all of pro sports where a team signs a player and trades him in the same year. esp in baseball. Not saying it happens all the time... but it happens on occasion.

I see Lawrence has a loaded roster in this league, so I was using that team as an example. Just because said player signs with Lawrence, doesn't mean other teams didn't make an offer in FA. As for the sign and trade in sports, when was the last time you saw a big name player in the NFL sign with a team and get traded the same off-season? This isn't OOTP, it's FOF, which I thought the point of this was to try and simulate real life football.

You want this to simulate real life football. Ask for rules that help make the finances more realistic like downing the cap a bit. Because you know what... the only reaosn Sign and Trades dont happen often in the NFL is because of the CAP hit you have to pay when you do trade a player off your roster. That is the only reason. In sports without that cap limitation IE Baseball it happens more commonly. Fix the finances and cap in FOF and you probably wouldnt see someone spend huge money on a 70 rated WR then trade him for 3 1sts and eat the bonus. It would be like in real life NFL financially unsound.

In other words you can't give me an answer, can you? This will be my last post on the subject. You obviously don't get it, and I can't make you get it. It's clear I'm wasting my time talking about it.
