  • Firebirds looking for WR for C or ILB

Available players are very good C Cordell Marshall, 2003's All-League 1st Team Centre, with only 2 sacks allowed and a 28.5 blocking percentage,
    or ILB Randal Keeler.
May be packaged together for the right player. Looking for any WR of very good rating or higher. Interested teams may PM manager of the Firebirds.

You know I was thinking earlier today, how come you let Troy Wells go? He is having a huge season for Madison thus far and was signed to a very cheap deal.

Just because he wasn't supposed to be any better than any of my existing WRs (mostly considering future potential you understand), and wouldn't consider any of the offers I was willing to make him. His numbers didn't deserve what he was asking, and I really honestly doubt he can maintain the pace he's set himself so far.

This is something that has been bugging me in solo play this week as I got into a solo league as big as I have ever I think. (Packers w/ 4 championships in 16 years, so I just took over the Cardinals.)

But yeah, I have how a guy demands a shit load from you, then you cut him and he signs for the minimum.

My main problem though has been with restricted FA's. (Maybe this guy Wells was one?) I wait until late FA to work out a deal with some of my more expensive RFA's in order to try and free up money and see how muc I have left after rookies sign and all that crap. Well several times I guy was asking just too much, so I would hit training camp without having ever signed him. Then the damn computer signs the guy(s) for the minimum, or near it, for one year and I never have the chance to make such an offer. He ws always asking for millions from me. Fuckers.

I wonder if it's got anything to do with playing time....were your guys primaries? I'll admit that Wells was, but if I remember right his loyalty was pretty low with me.

Well, their asking price does have to do with playing time, and performance from what I see. But my problem has been that in solo play I am never able to offer the league minimum like the computer teams do when trainging camp is run, it annoys me.

Wells has been a pleasant surprise so far this year. I hope he keeps it up.
