  • Conflicts in Dakota

Rookie's Kendrick Wheeler, QB and Rondell Shepherd, RB, are finding themselves on the short end of the stick in Dakota. Kendrick Wheeler who impressed team officials in the first preseason game going 9-12 for 106 yards and a opening drive TD, has not gelled with the veteran leadership currently in place in Dakota. Jonathan Corso, WR and Cesar Bosworth, FB have made known their annoyance of Kendrick's young cockiness which led to his drop in the depth chart at QB. Kendrick who has a promising upside in being able to read defenses and have a good sense of the pocket is frustrated with his situation in Dakota right now. Rondell Shepherd who rushed for 4.1 yards a carry during preseason, has great breakaway speed, and has good special teams potential is also rumored to be "in the dog house" with the running back corps.

Dakota may be interested in an "average" QB to back up Rocco, or late round draft picks in 2006.

In other news, the secondary has not responded to the leadership of free agent acquisition, Lucius Sharp, but have continuing questions regarding the depth at cornerback given the injuries to Sims and Fredrickson, along with Montiel's continual battle with depression.
