  • Louisiana/Little Rock Trade

Louisiana VooDoo agree to send QB Mark Rowe to Little Rock for a 4th round pick in next year's draft.

    Louisiana agrees.

Owners please review trade. We need an ok from other owners because the commish is involved.

I don't have as much experience in FOF as some other GM's so I won't be the one to "OK/Deny" this trade but in my short experience with FOF it seems Mentors have a substantial enough effect that one at the quarterback position would be worth a lot more than a 4th round pick. I think there are 5-6 QB Mentors in our whole league.

Not trying to bust balls RaginCajun or Cringer, just giving my honest opinion after opening up the game to check this trade out at your request.

Help me understand something. How do you know he is a mentor to anyone? I know his ratings are not very good. Please advise.

I'm also of the belief that it isn't all that easy to put a value on a QB mentor. What scares me here is that one of the parties involved doesn't know about mentors and is making a trade involving one. It'd be interesting to see what the trade discussion was like and how a 15-19 rated QB was deemed as valuable as a 4th Round choice (minus his mentorship).

Sovstar...I am aware of the mentor role and effect. My starting QB is a mentor. However, my question is how do you place a value of mentorship on a trade involving draft picks? I do not think anyone has the right answer for this. Little Rock does have a young QB that would benefit from a mentor that has a high future rating of 69. I thought a 4th was fair considering Rowe's ratings are so bad, however, this is why we post trades for other feedback. Please advise.

Okay. I see that I misunderstood you.

Thinking about it some more, I could see a mentor 2 QBs being worth anywhere from a 2nd to a 4th and being that you already have one you're bargaining position isn't as great.

I say fair deal. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

As long as interested parties deem it fair I see no reason to object.

Course I don't understand the value of mentors myself. B)

What do the people in LRT's division think???

FWIW I have no problem with it.

Comparing the mentor's current abilities (in the event the starter gets creamed at some point), the fact that mentors, while making progression of an young quarterback a little quicker it doesn't making it instantaneous, while before he may have taken 3-4 years to reach peak, not he'll do it in 2, I'm not that concerned with this since the guy would have peaked anyway.

I say let it stand, they're happy with it, I'm not gonna bitch =)

Sovstar…no worries. I appreciate all the feedback and this thread demonstrates that the owners are serious about having a fair and equitable league. Thanks guys.

Mark Rowe is really bad. If he wasn't a QB mentor he'd be a preseason cut.

                    4th round seems fair.
