I think all those players being in the last year of their contract, and their ages will be 29, 29, and 31 when the season starts, so it's possible they only play at their current level for a year or two (McKenzie though will probably be good for a while).

I think that an entire draft PLUS another first round pick is a huge price for a team to pay for three players, because if you have a full draft + a second 1st, you expect to get at least 3 starters and probably 4 from that draft, plus a couple of good backups. In the past two drafts, Murf has gotten 9 starters.

Uhm, after 3 straight 100 yard receiving games by Whitaker against the Toads, and only 9 receptions against McKenzie in the last 3 years, the Toads are all in favor of this trade. :P
My banner is bigger and prettier and cooler then yours. I choose not to show it so your feelings do not get hurt.

Age was a big factor. McKenzie was the hardest to part with. But alot of it was cap related. I can only hope that I can rebuild successfully ...

I figured you would be happy with it Cringer

I don't think that the Fire will get anywhere close to the talent of the three players given up via those draft picks.

And I think McKenzie alone could've netted more than two 1st round picks with the other two netting at least a 1st round pick each.

But since the Fire are in the NFC if they like the trade then I like the trade.

                WOW

I knew these guys were gonna want money but WOW!

combined they are asking for over 30m SB and salaries above 95m for 12 years service, meaning they will cost about 8m each per contract year, if they can be signed at all.

How in the world did I miss this trade?

Holy crap, the AC is going to be a monster conference this year.

Last year you had AQU, ANC, NOR, HAR, HOU, and STL as the class of the conference. I expect WIC and IWC will be better this year, and BOS and POR improved tremendously at the end of last year. Now MUR is going to be a killer team with Opie & Co. on offense and now McKenzie and Co. on defense.

Mules 1.8, 5.8, 6.8 and 7.8, TE Rich, DT Ash and FB Spraggins for DE Myron McCartney WR Justin Whitaker CB Oliver McKenzie
