    lansing sends:
    DE julian mangrum
    QB stephen dunford
    2008 lansing's 2nd round pick

    newark sends:
    QB scott nelson
    2008 newark's 4th round pick
    2009 newark's 5th round pick

this is a pretty big trade, so if it can get processed before this weeks game lansing would greatly apprecaite it.

Not sure if this is the smartest trade I ever made. It does make for an interesting backdrop for our game this weekend

Yep, I think so. I still have a strong liking to JB Fogarty too. Something about that guy that I just love. Nelson will start for Lansing against his former team, and Burger will start against his former team. Can't wait for the game.

I think I should be slightly over the cap after this trade. I will make this right after the trade is put through.

Done. Matt, you are 600k over the cap, so you need to fire 150 of your lap dancers, 3 bouncers, 2 bartenders and replace the velvet in the champagne room with shag carpeting before this weekends games.
            I luv British womenz.

Not bowing out. I strengthened my DL a lot. I'm hoping this will drastically improve my defense. My defense has been getting shredded lately, and this past week's sodomization by Nigel Booker really pissed me off.

As for the QB situation, I did not use Scott Nelson well. I admit, I did not know how. I have 2 young QB's that I'm going to develop, and hopefully not miss a beat.

I'll get my cap situation under control and settled before this weekend's game.

                  OK, here's a question.

I have to release a guy to make the roster requirements. Do I have to be under the cap, or do I go by the amount of money available for a new player?

Just wondering, as it will affect who I need to release.

They both have to be > or = 0. "Max for new player" is the room under your cap plus the salary of the 53rd highest salary on your roster.

That makes two of us that did not know how to use Nelson well. Still, the guy just wins.

Put me in the camp of confused why this move was made now.

I know it may not make sense on paper but I just had a gut feeling that this was the right thing to do. I don't expect anyone to understand because I don't. I've put a lot of thought into moving Nelson for about a month and a half (real time).

I hope it works out for me. It is a drastic change mid-season.

It's undeniable that you've improved your defense but giving up a very good QB for a very good DE is questionable IMO, especially after you just brought in Kraig Marasco in the off-season and have all the tools in place on offense... other than QB now.

                          Phantoms love this trade! :dancemonkey:

It's all good. Dwight Burger wants to beat Lawrence too!!!!!

I brought the tools in on offense, but I couldn't get Nelson to perform. He played well, not great. I'm hoping the on field dropoff is not too substantial.
