No worries, there is no one in Columbia to throw him the ball. At least for Icemans sake, he can once again resign Cart for about 10 million a year less then he is worth!

Mulcahey is throwing the pill fine thank you... 2 games 500+ yards and 3 TD to 1 Int... Not bad for a back up if you ask me... Now this just gives me an even better threat at TE...

Losing Spraggins was hard... But I get Rich and get a STUD at TE to help both the running and short yardage passing game...

Plus once JC gets back it will be time to light the torch... The passing whore will be back and ready to fly..

This is an interesting trade. Columbia, how exactly did you improve? Spraggins is already one of the best TE's in the league, and you shipped a great 3rd reciever plus two seconds and a forth to improve............what?
Not to mention, Spraggins is already signed for 3 years, cheap, and you will have to resign Rich right away......... :?

You been staring at red bars to long bro, two seconds and a forth got you exactly 20 more points at a position you were already strong at. Looking at last weeks game, I sure hope this helps you put up more then 14 points with that roster.

Well I tried to trade for him but I didn't really think i'd get him, especially since i'm playing Murf this week, but i'm glad he's out of the division, however Spraggins isn't bad either. I was hoping to see just draft picks for him

This trade isn't ridiculous enough to the point where I'd label it Jave-esque, but I do think the Mules found themselves a great deal here.

Did I over pay? No I do not think so. But as with all trades only time will tell.

Incase you did not notice. Walton is my #4 WR. I still have 3 solid WRs that play key roles in my Offense.

That being said, the simple fact is that while it may not appear to be a huge upgrade for me it does three things that I considered important.

                    1. It gave me a more all around TE (With limited drops, almost 400 more yards then Spraggins Last Year and more TD Grabs and a better blocker).. I see Rich as a Red Zone threat that I currently do not have (100 in avoid drops).

                    2. Rich is younger then Spraggins, and even if I have to franchise him, It will not cost me much more then what Spraggins was making.

                    3. I am building MY team... Yes Jeff did great when building this team, and I am greatful that I was able to gain control of a team with this amount of talent. But I also have the way I want this team to look.

Simple as that. I feel I got a better grasp on game planning, I am still new and I will make bad trades, good trades, and I will win some games and lose some as well. I mean I was one win from the big dance. That should say something (Granted mostly Jeffs GM skills not mine, Kinda like Gruden taking over for Dungy). And I have proven the Whitaker is a true #1 WR (Thanks to trading Rusty). So I feel I am doing good. Could I do better... SURE... But hey this is how we learn.

As a person who has been on the receiving end of the trades where you land draft picks for talented players, I won't judge this trade until we see what Murf does with the picks. If those picks bust, it becomes Rich and Lake for Walton and Spraggins which is a better trade for Columbia.

Rich is a super stud TE. The only weird part of the trade is now I believe Murf has both 'Spraggins' in the league on his team.

Whether the picks boom or bust doesn't really effect their value on trade day.

If I give you $100 for a $50 DVD player and you spend that $100 on a $20 rock of crack it doesn't mean I've given you only a $20 value for the DVD player, only that you don't spend your value wisely.

Good point. After trading away Bice and Mitchell for picks though, i've been more in favor of players over picks

Rich is a huge Red Zone threat, and will be even more so on a team like Columbia that is loaded ar WR. Granted a little less loaded today than yesterday but still loaded. Rich has gone like 20 games without a drop and YAC talk about YAC, plus he has started 51 straight games for the Mules.

After that you say, why trade Rich? 3 or 4 little things added up to the decision to move him if possible. Mainly his conflicts with Willoughby, and now Peterson.

The value for the Mules come not this season, nor the next but in08 and 09. Rich/Lake for Spraggins/Walton (who the Mules had attempted to acquire the entire offseason) definatly favors Columbia this season, and if Rich is franchised and signs long term for high TE money (say 2mil a year or so) then really it is not a bad deal for either club.
