Jeff, I had three late round picks around where CBA did, maybe around 3-4 picks earlier on average. I picked up:

    G Dronett 70/70
    T MacClelland 66/72
OLB Charles Patch 72/72 (traded the first round pick straight up for him)

If David came to me today and asked me to trade him those three for Halbert, I would laugh in his face. The draft is a little bit of a crap shoot, and you take some risk with it, so somtimes it will turn out better than others.

That's why guys shouldn't have placed too much value in the future Fire picks. 8)

LOL... Hey it sucked having no #1s... I will admit, but we have done well via trades to keep the team strong. Even though we will have to make some tough decissions this off season.

My final word on Javegate..........in hindsight(which is 20-20) it was a huge mistake on my part, although Connell appeared to be a monster. He turned out to be more like a kitten, and when I acquired Bice, that made Connell expendable. /shrug......it was still a good trade on paper.

Wouldn't have been so bad if you hadn't gotten schooled in the Connell trade.

You got a 4th-year G and 9th-year Delano for a 3rd-year back with better ratings than the guard and a 2nd round pick.
