  • Mules 2026 Draft

having traded away Murfreesboros 1st for probably some scrub punter the Mules had too wait thru 52 other selections till they were on the clock. IMO you cant really have a plan when you are jumping in that late, other than knowing full well that the sure fire studs will be gone. So I did not even interview any of those guys, which worked out well this season as there were tons of overrated/very overrated rolling thru the Mules suite at the combine.

    2.21 CB Wally McIntyre - Florida (36/68)

Wally will be competing for nickle and dime, but if Battle slips or Allpro Hambrick regresses then McIntyre will see significant snaps.

    2.27 WR Tito Branch - Ouachita (20/64)

Branch was a reach at 2.27, but his ST skills will make him a viable 5th WR while he hones his raw talent behind converted RB Tyrus Lee - OK I admit that aint so great but if the PR/KR/ST hold then Tito will be a Mule

3.21 RB Grady Williamson - Notre Dame (25/51)

Grady will be competing for a BU spot behind recently paid RB Price. His overall skills will make for some good competition in the Mules backfield

4.21 WILB Hunter Parrish - Oklahoma (17/53) will be moved to WLB

Parrish's future in the IFL will be determined by his ability to play ST and play BU OLB for the Mules. Failing in either category will mean unemployment for young master Hunter

    5.21 T Jose Terrell - Colorado State (15/58)

Jose will be, if all goes as planned, getting some quality pine time in 2026 and an all expense paid trip to Europa in 2027. Terrell should not see the field barring injury or booming

    6.21 WR Kuklick - Memphis (17/37)

the Mules were literally asleep on the clock when Bill Jarobe drafted his wife's cousin's neibhbor's nephew's roomate's friend - who is a really nice guy with a witty sense of humor and always returns his voice mails

7.02 DE Donnie Fleming - Rutgers (16/56) will be moved to MLB

get used too the drills Donnie cause you wont be sniffing the field till you can play without a paw on the dirt

7.21 RB Malcolm Rayburn - East Carolina (32/59)

this Pirate might be the steal of the Mules draft. Although the Mules did not need a RB at this spot the value was impossible to pass on. At this moment the 7th rounder is on top of the Mules RB depth chart - but nobody except Malcoms momma thinks it will stay that way for long. Still if STs hold up Rayburn might force Murfreesboro into a hard decision come cut time.

    7.23 P Ronnie Pittard - Georgia (43/43)

Ronnie is the Mules punter - for now. There will be punters going thru the 'boro like grease thru a goose.
This mediocrity will not stand. But the Mules wanted to be assured of having a punter going into TC.
    Mission accomplished

Branch and Rayburn were both on my short list at the time you took them.

Did you check out Rayburns big play bar? Too much bar drafting and not enough combine drafting

Once upon a time old Redskins/Rams coach George Allen said the Punter was the second most important position on the team. Hang time and coffin corner ability could steal you a couple of games a year.

Not sure I'd go as far as second most important, but agree that it's underrated. One reason the Seahawks are 11-1 this year: they've allowed 15 punt return yards total in the 12 games they've played and have gained 412 yards on punt returns. That's a net gain of 33 yards every game.
