1.23 Jon Schwartz, OG Idaho State: Injuries on the OLine really hurt this running team in 2025 so even though we start 2026 with no needs I couldn't help but pull the trigger on the run blocking monster that is Jon Schwartz. Jon should be All-League quality in the run game and can hold his own with Pass Blocking and Endurance. Hopefully we have a 12 year block at RG with this pick.

Post-Camp Analysis: Jon leads a cast of 2026 Draftee Disappointments by coming out of camp 2 future points lower than he went in. He did do his best to catch up to the pro game and likely earned a Day 1 starting job though. It's hard to imagine a non-injury scenerio where he isn't the starting RG by season's end. He figures to be an elite offensive guard in the IFL, just not quite the level we were envisioning.
1.30 Zach Tennant, CB Stanford: Forced to make a choice as time wound down with an empty chat room and no trade partner I went with yet another DB. While we already have two 60+ rated CBs on the roster Zach provides a big body and the skill set that current Phantom Defensive Coaches desire. A 99 volatility rating means no post-TC outcome will be surprising. Let's just hope this isn't the second 1st round total bust at CB for the Phantoms!!

Post-Camp Analysis: Zach had a very disappointing training camp with us to start his IFL career. It appears he used his size and strength to great success in the college game and just isn't the same CB against pro receivers. He didn't seem to learn much throughout camp and all our scouts agree that his ceiling is nowhere near where we thought it might be.
2.05 Steven Conyers, QB Oklahoma: As stated in my interview with Jay Glazier, the Phantoms' Front Office had no intentions of going QB in this draft. However when the Hometown Boy from Hyannis was there at the start of the 2nd the thought of going into 2027 with no clue at QB scared me into a knee-jerk reaction. Our scouts labeled Steven "Underrated" despite his poor showing in some areas of the combine. From what little I know his static bars look good and our fingers are crossed on the rest!

Post-Camp Analysis: If Steven were to max out at his current projection then he'd be a quality IFL starting quarterback. But at -9 we all know where this is going.
3.30 Seth Feingold, RT Washington State: As the 3rd Round rolled to a close the Phantoms Front Office was experiencing networking difficulties and instead of a likely trade out of this spot I pulled the trigger on another OLineman during a brief successful connection with IFL Headquarters. Seth comes in raw and is projected as a back-up but continues the current Phocus of building a solid and deep offensive line.

Change: +3/-3
Post-Camp Analysis: Seth comes out of camp ready to contribute from the start and has a decent chance of being a quality IFL back-up. He'll see plenty of time in that role starting immediately and is currently a decent pick at the end of the 3rd round.
4.08 Tyrone Napier, C Georgia Tech: Tyrone is a young Center focused on run blocking and strength training so after a season and post-season without our starting Center, Jeff Swasey, this was an easy selection at the top of the 4th Round. Tyrone completes the Phantoms offensive line by giving us a quality starter and back-up at each position. We will definitely be pounding the rock in 2026!!

Pre-Camp: 34/58

Change: +4/-4
Post-Camp Analysis: Tyrone is very much like our previous pick, Seth Feingold, and pleasantly came out of camp ready to help out at the pro level... albeit with an unpleasant demeanor! More than once Phantom coaches had to step in to break up his heated spats with teammates during the grinding hours of TC. He's already an upgrade over our back-up Centers in recent seasons. Good return on a 4th Round Pick investment at this point.
6.29 Geoff Stimpson, DT Colorado State: Hell of a combine for a guy still on the board at the end of the 6th! We've lacked any sort of pass rush from the interior defensive front seven in recent seasons and if the scouts' clocks were correct on Pro Day then Stimpson should provide the best pressure we've managed in quite a while. His lack of run defense is meaningless since he'll only be used in passing downs.

Pre-Camp: 17/22
Post-Camp: 19/23
Change: +1/+1 (Cut into FA pool)
Post-Camp Analysis: Geoff was a combine warrior who showed no signs through camp of transferring that athleticism onto the field. He was subsequently cut from a deep crop of DTs.
7.30 Lance Patterson, CB Michigan: Lance fills in for recently traded Corwin Lehr at both DB and Special Teams. Like all 7th Round picks he'll have an uphill battle to secure an IFL career but his skill set fits the current Phantom defensive regime so if he's gonna make it anywhere one would think Lawrence would be that spot.

Post-Camp: 13/37

Post-Camp Analysis: Lance still has a job as a Special Teams contributor. He'll have to work hard to improve in order to ever have a real IFL job as a CB.
