Tulsa fans are fired up for what is a big game, despite Columbia's 3-3 record.
"Columbia is a good team, their recored doesn't mean squat. We dropped our last to games, so did they. This is gonna be a dogfight to see who can avoid a mid season tailspin to the bottom of the conference." Said Tornadoes head coach Bill Earle.
Two very different teams return for the rematch. Columbia has lost all pro QB Cartagena for the season, as well as monster LB Maynard. Tulsa's secondary was battered by a suprising Texas passing attack, in part due to lack of veteran stand out Nunnery at safety. He's been lost for the season due to injury, and sources close to him say he is contemplating reitrement.
Columbia now has LB James Pernell, whose trade from Tulsa was accompanied by a great deal of bad blood. The Tulsa front office has denied rumors that Linebackers coach Bud Stevens posted a bounty for Pernell's injury. Sources claimed the entire defensive coaching staff pitched in $1,000 dollars each as well as offered a small leather pouch with two brass ball bearings in it to anyone who could take Pernell out of the game. Pernell has stated that he is unconcerned.
