The Chicago Crusaders are a franchise in trouble. Many felt the team was going in the right direction when the team made changes at the GM position. Chicago went on a trading frenzy and worked several angles to try and build a winner immediately. Unfortunately those efforts failed and external issues outside of the organization cause the team to fall into chaos. At the end of another failed season in Chicago, the teams ownership decided that this was the year to blow things up and start rebuilding like they should have done in year one. The teams GM is on notice that the efforts of the next few seasons is to build a winner via the draft. The GM has the support of management, for now, and has been given full control over the roster to build a winner.
GONE
C Ted Dunsmore - FA to CLE
CB Kyle Battle - FA to MUR
T Shaun Cunningham - Traded to SLC
DE Ricky Lyle - Traded to ORL
DT Willard Peters - Traded to ORL
WR Lester Grant - Traded to MUR
These moves appear to be just the beginning of the teams decision to revamp the roster. While the team has not added many players via free agency, but the team has managed to add multiple players via trade and the draft
Additions
T Winston Paniagua - He is a undersized T that is only in his 2nd season. Brought over in the Cunningham trade, he projects well for the Crusaders and could start for them this next season
Pick 1.2 - Isaac Houlihan - WR - Kansas

Pick 3.2 - Tito Reed - DT - Purdue

Pick 4.2 - Jimmie Barlow - ILB - Sasquehanna

Pick 5.2 - Damon Perron - T - Washington

Pick 5.20 - Wally Kornegay - WR - Northwestern

Pick 5.28 - Roman Noetzel - T - Kent State

Pick 6.2 - Skip Tadlock - QB - Michigan State

With a few more picks and 45 players on the roster, the team will likely not be big bidders in the free agency market after the draft so the team is relying heavily on their selections and future moves in an effort to rebuild the team.
