  • LRK Draft Class

    1 - 1 (1) LRK John Woodcock WR Clemson

Why we picked him: Woodcock has great combine great bars and his underrated impression all added up to a very easy choice for the #1 overall pick. Never really considered anyone else. After TC he could have the 2nd highest future rating of any WR in the league.

    1 - 12 (12) LRK Vernon Joseph ILB Oregon

Why we picked him: We consider TE Horne with this pick but we already have a 1st round TE on the roster who's been a disappointment but still will develop into a pretty good receiving TE. Joseph will move to WLB in our system and will make a pretty big impact given his talent / development. I'd say him and DE Tyler (Oak) would be early favorites for DROY.

    1 - 15 (15) LRK Will Parrella CB Stanford

Why we picked him: I love M2M and BnR on my CB's and he's the gold standard in both. I like his return ability. I wish he had better interceptions but again not a huge deal. My scout had him as Underrated so I think after TC i'll be very happy.

    1 - 16 (16) LRK Roosevelt Mathews QB Wisconsin

Why we picked him: I almost picked him at 1.12 because there were two players heading into the draft I wanted to make sure we picked and he was the other pair to Woodcock. I'm not sure if he'll be the best QB in this class but he's a very safe pick. His Sense Rush bar, and the masked pair and the scouts impression VU should added up to a franchise QB and I don't think i'll feel bad for trading away my next year 1st for the pick.

    1 - 27 (27) LRK Dave Cassidy RB Washington

Why we picked him: With Reiter on the roster we we're thinking HB entering the draft but we scouted Cassidy just incase he slipped on draft day. You could ultimately make a case for any of the top 5 RB's being the best of the class. Personally I like Brkwy Spd and Hole Rec and Cassidy probably has the best combo of those two bars.

    2 - 1 (33) LRK * (5 min) Victor Wilcox S California

Why we picked him: I had hoped to land either S Sanderson, G Wells, or LB Roosenraad but they all went right before. I don't feel badly about landing Wilcox as we had needs everywhere and S was one of them. I love zone on my Safeties and his ST ability is a nice bonus. He should start at FS for us on week 1.

    2 - 8 (40) LRK * (5 min) Cris Moynihan DE Florida

Why we picked him: For my DE's I'd always choose PRT over RD but i'm not complaining landing Moynihan in this case. His red agility score of 7.08 makes this pick pretty risk free. He has pro bowl level talent and getting him here in the 2nd was really nice value.

    2 - 26 (58) LRK * (5 min) Jackie Reese WR Middle Tennessee

Why we picked him: Jackie Reese will be our #3 WR and of course i'd rather he have a better agility score but then he's a first round pick. Reese is an affinity match and I always upgrade players if in that situation. He's got a great looking BP bar and his RR should be pretty good. I think he's a great #3 and not a bad #2 injury fill in. Plus we got to stick it to Matt with this pick

    3 - 1 (65) LRK * (5 min) Brad Heurtin OLB William & Mary

Why we picked him: Pretty much just going with best available the whole way thru the draft. Heurtin matched DE Moynihan 7.08 agility score and makes him a great run defender and I think pretty good value in the 3rd. His ST bar is a nice bonus and i'm hoping his zone bar will eventually match the ST one.

    3 - 12 (76) LRK * (5 min) Oscar Foreman G Fresno State

Why we picked him: Total gamble with a combine skipper here. Odds are he's VO but he's got a great static bar and he'll have to really hit the shitter for this to feel like a wasted pick. The upside is well worth the downside.

    3 - 29 (93) LRK * (5 min) Roosevelt Ward FB Louisiana State

Why we picked him: We don't have a FB on our roster and there's only about 3 bars I care about on a FB Run Blk Endurance and ST. he's got very nice looking bars in these 3 areas and it's not like there's other sure things out there at this point.

Nice write-up. I had VU on G Foreman and would've taken him at 3.26 - sigh

              4 - 1 (97) LRK * Chuck Adams T Notre Dame

Why we picked him: I'm not convinced Adams will be better than the T we drafted at the end of the 4th but I didn't think Adams would fall and He's a nice affinity match and won't really be any worse than he's showing now. He's going to be a nice run blocking T and his pass blocking shouldn't be horrible.

              4 - 28 (124) LRK * T.J. Marschalk T Western Illinois

Why we picked him: Marschalk got a VU from our scout and he's got the combine #s to match it. VU guys can often creep a long way so hopefully that's what we get with this guy. It's interesting because both 4th round tackles will be battling for the starting T position and i'd say it's right at 50/50 right now.

              4 - 30 (126) LRK * J.T. Smith CB Illinois

Why we picked him: Smith had no glaring combine scores and sometimes the high pair of pun hitter and INT indicate a masked player so i'm banking on that with Smith. He's also got a nice looking punt return bar so it's very likely he makes the 53 man.

              6 - 1 (161) LRK * Anthony Mixon DT Nevada - Las Vegas

Why we picked him: How could you not pick this guy in the 6th. He's probably VO but still he's got some nice looking bars and if my good for nothing scout is actually right on this guy it will be a massive steal in the 6th round. I'm hoping he can be a decent run stopping DT but there's no guarantee he'll make the 53 man roster.

                6 - 17 (177) LRK * Peter Jacobs OLB Nebraska

Why we picked him: Getting a red combine agility LB in the 6th round feels like a gift. Of course he's nothing special but with with his Run Def and his ST bar he's a great depth type LB. Bonus for being an affinity match.

                6 - 30 (190) LRK * Andy Sivigny QB New Mexico State

Why we picked him: Overall it was a pretty shitty QB draft class. There really weren't many prospect I thought were good gambles later in the draft but Sivigny had all the right combine scores and got a U from my scout. I think he develops into a decent spot fill starter and he'll be an affinity match with our offensive leaders.

                6 - 32 (192) LRK * Bobby Brock G Toledo

Why we picked him: Another affinity match pick. Brock has decent 40 yard and agility drill scores plus he got a VU from our scout. We had a lot of VU from our scout and of course not all will be VU but Brock still probably makes the roster because of his exceptional affinity match.

                7 - 18 (210) LRK * Al Forguson TE Rutgers

Why we picked him: His combines suck but generally endurance and ST don't tend to be horribly inaccurate so hopefully those hold some value. With only 1 TE sign and I fully intend the other two TE's to be affinity matches that really didn't leave us many options in the draft so we'll see. Forguson is another 50/50 roster bubble player.
