In the aftermath of the nail in the coffin on one of the IFL's in-disputably greatest WRs of All-Time, Arnold "Shake" Greene, of the Lawrence Phantoms as he delves into retirement as the 2023 season starts, we pose the question to all IFL Phans with credentials to answer:
Is he the best ever???
In all fairness we'll bring the competition to light...
For yardage gained there's only the Untouchable, Sherman Jarvis, at 16,728 mostly at the hands of one, Gene Hamilton (rocked everywhere but Dakota: Note from Tobias Stanfield: "Please stop ruining great QBs late career stats, DG!") ... Chris Andrews is sure to pass "Shake" but is highly unlikely to pass SJ on the All-Time List.
For TDs: The All-Talented and previously mentioned Chris Andrews of Tulsa fame. Andrews has shred defenses to pieces on route to an outstanding career. He stands poised to break many, many, IFL receiving records.
But of course support the Post's Man-of-the-Hour, Arnold "Shake" Greene...
3 Time IFL Bowl Starting Champion, 4 Time IFL Bowl Starter. Do Rings count for anything in today's IFL?
1790 Post-Season yards (1st All-Time)
12 Post-Season TDs (1st All-Time)
570 Post-Season YAC (1st All-Time)
9 - 100+ Yards Gained, Post-Season Games (1st All-Time)
In the interest of honest voting (should success be punished?): 670 Post-Season Targets (1st All-Time)
EDITOR'S NOTE: 1.1 pick Don Gomez and sneaky (at the time) 2nd round "POP score pick" (remember that cheat???) Jermaine Doeber get an extra year in the "battle of the 2011s", yet will still fall very short. I put this out there because I found/find it interesting that a few FOFC vets chose Doeber as the pick of the WR class that year despite Greene's great combines AND bars and I knew there was something going on yet I got "just a feeling" as a response to what I witnessed. Phantoms Ophice and Phans have always been "straight up" and "balls out" with our knowledge/responses to questions from Phans.
