2022 Tigerhawks Draft Review

This season was a big one for the Tigerhawks in regartds to drafting. Last season was the worst season, record-wise, in a decade. Age was one of the factors. All across the board, players were, and are, old. This draft marks the beginning of the new era in Tulsa.
We traded for pick 1-30 for a couple future 2nds. This was imprtant. We saw a receiver that we really likes and didnt think he would make it to the middle of the 2nd. The rest of the draft was need based. Youth at all positions was necessary. But these slots were of the utmost impotance to fill.
Introducing your 2022 Tigerhawks.

Pick 1-30 WR Bill Willis 5'9" 196 lbs., Florida



We really like this guy. Ran a 4.50. 7.20 agility. 14 bench reps. 41 in the position drill.
He is a little bit underdeveloped. And looks to drop ratings in TC. But he will fit noicely in our offense.

Pick 2-16 RB Brant Lake 5'10" 200 lbs, UCLA



We took a flyer. With Singleton retiring, we were looking for the next great Tulsa running back. Lake doesnt appear to be it. Fast, he ran a 4.54 40. But that looks like all he brings to the table. We are hoping for an outstanding training camp.

Pick 3-15 P Buddy Patton 6'1" 200 lbs., Louisiana-Monroe



It was time to find a new punter. Patton looked like the best of the class. We resigned long time Tigerhawk Lester Clements to a min sal contract to offer competition. But we didnt spend a 3rd on a punter to cut him.


Pick 3-30 LB Raymond Sheppard 6'4" 256 lbs., Kansas



We really love Sheppards cover skills. And he can stop the run as well. Not the sharpest tool the box, but he should get the opportunity to start. He is fast and quick. Attributes we linke in a WLB>

Pick 4-8 TE Zach Nixon 6'5" 272 lbs., Stanford



This guys is monster. 272 lbs and runs a 4.71. We loved his big play ability. He can run by linebackers and run over safeties. After a tough season for our TEs, we are hoping Nixon can step in and start and produce.

Pick 5-16 G Jake Richmond 6'4" 312 lbs., North Carolina



We like Richmonds skill set. His endurance may be a problem, but we need depth at guard, and Jake fills that need. He may start with a good training camp.

Pick 6-15 DT Adam Brandon 6'3" 299 lbs., Iowa



The pizza delivery guy came into the war room. Our order was messed up. We told him to call the shop and fix our order. He grabbed the draft phone and this was the conversation " Adam? Brandon here. Yeah we need an extra......hello? hello?"
Next thing we here is Adam Brandon being selected. I dont think he will make the team. But he is an Iowa guy, so you never know.

Pick 7-17 MLB Randal Walton 6'0" 231 lbs., Michigan St.



Walton comes to camp a little underrated. He is a good run stopper and shows some cover skills. He is under-sized and we are comtemplating a move to SS. But his 40 time doesnt really allow for that. I guess slow and weak arent the best attributes for a linebacker.
