Being the stat geek that I am I thought it'd be cool to do some sort of analysis on all of the receivers in the Imperial Football League - something nice to pass time before I unleash my multi-set of team power rankings next week or the one thereafter (just not enough of a sample yet).
I'm no statistical genius, so I decided to do some research and see if anyone else has done some research on this subject. Sure enough, someone has devised a formula which seems to do a pretty good job at rating receiver performances with all the basic (and available) data. So none of this is my own work, I'm just plugging in the our league data. Props to Ross Smith and Tim Connelly.

The following is a list of all players (WR,RB,FB,TE) that can be found on the career receiving leaders page (minus one guy who only had nine games) sorted by Ross Smith's Receiver Rating. In my next post, I'll compare how things match up with the ratings put up by the 2004 NFL Wide Receivers.
