In losing to Burlington, 38-10, its diffucult to find anything positive to say about this weeks game. Once again, the hopes of RB Connell taking over games is fading fast has he has been been less then impressive thus far in rushing for a mere 179 yards, and 1 TD this year, with a sad 3.65 yd average. Rookie QB Hamilton has been tottally confused out there, unable to find any recievers that actually play for Oakland, and unable to run the offense with any confidence at all, tossing out 3 picks this week before being benched in favor of Palmer, who promtly went out and threw a pick of his own.
Oakland head coach Britt Hatcher spoke to the media, " Ohhh please, everyone just needs to relax, we are 1-2 after 3 games, you know what that makes us? One game out of first place, thats it. We all know how long it takes rookie quarterbacks to learn this position, thats why he is starting now, and will continue to start, and with the new offensive line, I honestly didn't expect Connell to run for 200 yards a game, untill our O-line meshes. This will all come together, it just takes time. What everyone needs to talk about is a real story, like, why does Reno suck this year, or how in the hell is Wichita undefeated? Those are real stories. Now I have a team to run here..........."
OK, more to come out of Oakland, as they have a huge game this week against Little Rock, and the meeting of old friends has Woods and Nelson will square off for the title of best defense lineman in the league.
