Bored with baseball now that the Sox have finally won a world series, noted baseball sports analyst and writer Peter Gammons has asked to be taken off the Boston Globe's baseball beat in order to cover the emerging Boston Dragons. "Now that the Sox have won it all, I feel empty," Gammons told the Dragons webpage author. "It's all about the Dragons now. The 3-0 start, the future with either Hairston or Picante Sante, and the way the dominant defensive line will be back together next week for the first time in over a year has me amped."
Speaking of amped, Gammons will perform the national anthem on his electric guitar at Sunday's home game. He indicated that he, with the assistance of friend Chris Berman, will also assign a nickname to the Dragons' elite defensive front four. "Fearsome Foursome, Steel Curtain, Purple People Eaters, Doomsday Defense," Gammons stated. "Every great line has a nickname and I'll unveil my contribution - with help from Chris Berman - after I finish Hendrix-ing the Star Spangled Banner."
