Ten Year Veteran Wideout Traded To Los Angeles

Roman Stonebarger, a split end with the Wichita Gunslingers, has been traded to the Matadors for pick 2.11 in the rookie draft.

Stonebarger was originally a third round pick of the Portland Seals in the 2012 Imperial Rookie Draft.

Roman will more than likely be moved to flanker, giving Frankie Shields the go ahead as the starting split end.

Okay, that's not gonna happen.... Roman stays what he is, and the Sheilds stays where he is...

I wanted to improve our run blocking for Ducky Mallard, and this guy does that. Great Combine scores. Great blocking ability, and yet a solid pass catching fullback. Will get a look at tight end. If not, it's all good.

If you can't get the wideouts in the rookie draft, upgrade your backup tight ends. And Booker is just that. The fullback we drafted didn't translate to tight end well, so this was a pick based off of that. We needed a better fullback, got it. We now have a better number two option at tight end.

Loved his bench reps and strength, I think he could be a pretty good o lineman despite being an inch short.

He'll never be that stud starter, not unless he's got the X-Factor by the bucket loads, but he gives me a good backup that can play the zone and bump n run defense we use in our cover two defensive scheme, he's a good punishing hitter with great endurance and good play diagnosis, and a nice special teams contributor. He's fast, too! And he won't tank in the ratings, although he will drop slightly from the numbers he landed with, which is good, because he can't afford any dramatic drop in ratings.

              The average Joe.

6.11. QB Dana Barlow, LaSalle College
              6-3, 239 lbs.
              Average Volatility

The Short Passing specialist with a very familiar surname works well with the West Coast Offense should he ever have to play, and he'll hold his numbers. His bars will take a slight dip in read defense, and in the medium to long passing areas, but his scrambling ability and his kick holding won't. He's a third stringer, and being a sixth round pick, he could stay with us a long time. He's a cheap s.o.b.

The big gains for us came in the trades we made, and that's where you'll see the Matadors make forward steps in improvement. I wanted to be consistent with the draft picks I had, and fill needs, but still retain flexibility as the draft progressed. I find when I get a mindset that I'm going to do this, and that, I wind up taking crap and letting players fall to other teams. I relied on the Stelmack Utility much more than the scouts on my staff, because my scouts are average, and the Stelmack Utility takes the info from an average of all the Scouts in the league.

Does popularity still matter? I thought that draft cheat had been fixed.

DE Floyd Greason has been conditionally released by Los Angeles, and an offer to a free agent defensive end has been tendered.

Greason, a 7 year veteran of the Imperial wars, was drafted in the second round of the 2015 draft, and an injury plagued career that included 4 major injuries have taken its toll on the Matador. "His numbers are plummeting, and a 7 year pro who's sitting with 28/28 and four years left on his contract that's eating up about 15 million bucks is insane. We found a good one year stop gap that Bill Kidder approved, and hopefully he'll sign for the Portland game."

Greason's numbers after, and during, his rookie season showed a ton of promise:

In other Matador news, TE Kirk Fehr has been offered a new contract, extending his stay with Los Angeles for another three seasons.

Thanks...I love the Matadors as a team mascot, and the throwback logo... it's much more like a football team than the Liberty ever was...

I've been searching for a new style Sig, and came across this idea.. it adds a nice identity to the team.
