  • Groupthink Mock Draft

Upon further review picking a division seems like a potential nightmare. One owner being away for awhile could kill this. Just post a pick below and I'll add it to this post. Wait for someone else to slect before making another choice. Be sure to comment on why you like the pick or if you think someone made a bad pick comment on that too. Would be cool to get a positive and negative critique beside each pick. 1.1 and 1.2 are set in stone so ....

1.1 Little Rock CB Shane Matthews .... I honestly thought I'd get more crap for this. Not only did I not go QB I didn't even take an offensive player. Matthews has absolutely HUGE potential the scores that affect coverages and interceptions are freakish.
1.2 Reno QB Wesley May Wash. St. .... I was afraid this would happen. Looks there will be a new elite QB in the NC West. My only consolation is that since he's only 14% developed that it should be three years out or so before he hits his stride (never having developed a QB I'm not sure about this). Nice pick Argot.
1.3 Little Rock Blake Barden, S - After taking the best CB in the draft why not take the best S and set a very impressive foundation for a powerful secondary for seasons to come?
1.4 Chicago Donovan Punzel ....Chicago needs just about everything, the handful of good players they have are older. The game says DE and both LB's are their biggest need. There isn't one worthy of 1.4 though so Punzel makes sense. Great piece to build a front 7 around.
    1.5 Texas...

I do like Barden and expect him to come off the board very early. Doubt he'll be a Toad, though. He might go before the other 7+ CB

If CHI takes a defensive player then they're just waving the "I have no intentions of ever winning" flag. They gotta go WR or RB... unless they see their QB in this draft. Gotta worry about scoring points before semi-quasi-FOF-stopping them.

Traditionally MLB and DT are the least effective draft choices IMO. We've seen many teams take them and I haven't witnessed it do much except perpetuate top-10 drafting.

Well, LRK already indicated they won't take Barden, so why don't we give them RB Fulcher, a nice upgrade, and then give CHI WR Crapo (has the strength to fight off the jam at the line)

You're right. I was going off the "Chicago needs just about everything" and I feel with May gone there's only RB, WR, (and OT which I forgot due to not interviewing them) worth taking in the top 5.
