On a sweep around the right end, Ken "DH" Singleton scampered for a 10 yard run into the record book. DH, in his 10th season, surpassed Brian Dixons record of 13802 rushing yards. Singleton ended the day standing at 13810 yards. In his storied career, DH has broken many records. But this was the crown jewel. The career rushing record is something every boy dreams of owning. And now the greatest running back in the history of the Imperial Football League owns it.
The rushing record is the latest record for DH in career full of records. But this record has always been on his mind. Ever since the early days of his career when former Toad GM Cringer questioned his ability.
"I was really looking forward to breaking this record. I knew Tulsa had great lines to help me get here. This record is for every lineman that has blockeed for me. I really want to thank them. Also, I want to thank Cringer for that little extra boost. His love for his back Brian Dixon obviously clouded his vision. But I do appreciate his loyalty to his back. But I was not to be stopped. When I came into this league, I had some goals. One, of course was to win a title, but this record was on the list. And here I am. And to do it in Texas, well thats special, also. I was hoping to get it in front of the home crowd. But to do it in Texas is awesome as well. The have been a great rival."
Congratulations to Ken "DH" Singleton. A great record for a great running back.
