Week 2
Week 2
[html:6672f13412]
Offensive Player
of the Week - 2004, week 2
Chris Chaplin, QB, Newark Bulldogs

Chaplin had the second most pass attempts
in a single game in Imperial League history with 52. He completed 26 of them
for 248 yards, 1 TD, and 0 INTs. It was a heck of a performance by the 8
year vet, but not enough to get the win. The Bulldogs lost in OT to Wichita,
20-17.
Defensive Player
of the Week - 2004, week 2
Hank Tran, OLB, Wichita Outlaws

Perhaps the first time both PofW have come
from the same game as Tran gets 4 tackles, 2 assists, 2 sacks, and 2 Dfn. An
all-around great game that had him running all over the field and keeping
the Newark offense guessing.

Week 3
[html:ecb8964c73]
Offensive Player
of the Week - 2004, week 3
Gerald Sanders, QB, West Virginia

A great game by Sanders, although an
unexpected selection with Vancouver's Allen Ho setting the single game
rushing record. Sanders went 24 of 38 for 350 yards with 2 TDs and 0 INTs.
Sanders and the Beast started hot against St. Louis, and could have had more
first half points if not for a missed FG and a fumble. In OT Sanders led the
team downfield to set up the game winning FG.
Defensive Player
of the Week - 2004, week 3
Augustine Murray, MLB, Albuquerque Matadors

Murray is the defensive leader for this
young Matador team, and he led the way in a win over Iowa City to see their
record go to 2-1. With his 15 tackles, 3 assists, and 1 sack, Murray and his
teammates gave just enough to hold off Snipe Hunter RB Audrey Beamer from
having a huge day and to get the win.

Week 4
[html:43647d4cf2]
Offensive Player
of the Week - 2004, week 4
Jamie Morris, QB, Columbia Fire

Julian Cartagena is NOT a product of a
system, but the system in Columbia is one of the last things he would have
to ovecome. The system there appears to be QB friendly as Jamie Morris keeps
the Fire offense burning. He completed 24 of 35 for 266 yards, 2 TDs, and no
INTs. The Fire got a big win over Vancouver, 37-6.
Defensive Player
of the Week - 2004, week 4
Benedict Kaczmarek, DE, Lawrence Phantoms

Five tackles and two sacks and 3 QB hurries
put so much pressure on Fargo QB Hooten, that he was pulled from the game.
Kaczmarek and the Phantom defense held the Brave Bulls to 10 points, winning
24-10.

of the Week - 2004, week 5
Gerald Sanders, QB, West Virginia

Gerald Sanders is laying claim to the title

[/html:bab99c3ddd]
Defensive Player
of the Week - 2004, week 5
Monte Cordoba, SLB, Tulsa Tornadoes

He didn't rack up a ton of tackles, but he
was every where on the field for the Tornadoes, and he made things very
difficult for Vancouver's offense. He finished the game with 4 tackles, 1
assist, 1 sack, 1 INT, 2 Defenses, and 1 QB hurry. He also set the tone
pretty early in the game for Tulsa, as on Vancouver's second drive he
stuffed Allen Ho for a 1 yard loss, then two plays later got his INT against

Nigel Booker, QB, Salt Lake City Stallions

25 attempts. His performance, combined with a good showing by James Tart,
got the Stallions a big win over the Columbia Fire. Through six games Booker
has surpassed his TD mark for last year, and with one more game should have
more passing yards then he did last season in twelve game.
Defensive Player
of the Week - 2004, week 6
Lance Delano, DE, Vancouver Killer Whales

Delano had some tough competition for this
award from teammate Kenneth Jones and his 3 INTs. Delano gets it based on

Offensive Player
of the Week - 2004, week 7
Dennis Colella, QB, Vancouver Killer Whales

Second week in a row for a Whale to win a

247 yards, 3 TD's and 1 INT. The win by Vancouver put them in a first place
tie with Reno for the NFC West.
Defensive Player
of the Week - 2004, week 7
Riley Brown, DE, Madison Demons

After Madison was held to 3 points by
Newark last week, Riley Brown must have decided that was a good way to win a
game. The Demon defense kept division rival Lansing to 3 points with the
help of Brown, who had 7 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 blocked pass, and 2 QB
hurries. Madison took a two game lead in the NFC North with the win.

Rudolph Michell, DE, Albuquerque Matadors

Seven tackles and four assists is not even
scratching the surface of Michell's game. What got him this award is 2 sacks
and 2 forced fumbles that made things tough for Houston's Jerry St.Clair in
a game that was all over the place and ended with the Matadors winning in
OT.

Not the most impressive of numbers from

Offensive Player
of the Week - 2004, week 12
Ralph Given, QB, Little Rock Toads

Given put up some superstar numbers, but it
had it's downside. With 33 completions he set the new single game completion

Given threw an INT late in the game, while trying to come back for the win.

Tod Woods, DT, Little Rock Toads

Amazing the Toads lose and get both awards.
The second week in a row both players come from the same team. Woods had a
pretty good day when looking at his stats. 7 tackles, 1 assist, 3.5 sacks,
and 1 QB hurry. By far his best day yet as a Toad.

Virgil Sepulveda, QB, Burlington Bolts

The Bolts outscored the high powered

Defensive Player
of the Week - 2004, week 13
Myron McCartney, DE, Columbia Fire

This award could have gone to McCartney or
