In what could be the steal of the draft, Oakland GM Jave pulled off a quick draft day trade to acquire Texas A&M receiver Winston Stuart.

In a somewhat surprising move, Oakland, who's been quiet in the draft without a 1st round pick this year due to the Lofton trade, turns right around and trades Lofton to Chicago to jump back into the first round stealing what could be the draft's best receiver, Winston Stuart. The irony wasn't lost on Jave who in a weird twist, actually improved his draft position with the trade:
" We had no intention of trading Casey at all this year. He played strong for us last year and was a key component of this teams division championship run. We were more or less observers just paying attention to who went where trying to get a read on the draft for the second round. It was when the Whales drafted Wormeck it occurred to us that Stuart had somewhat, fallen under the radar with the great guards being drafted.
I remember Rodriguez (offensive coordinator) being somewhat mystified as to why Stuart, whom we had rated considerably higher then Wormeck, went before him. Literally, at that very second, Rod (lead scout) informed us the Dragon's were shopping 1.19 when both Dahnke and Escamilla were drafted back to back. We knew Chicago needed a strong tight end for their team and we called Casey (Lofton) to see how he felt about the possible trade and he was excited for the opportunity. In a matter of 10 minutes it all just fell into place."
Well there ya go Oakland fans. We will continue to follow the draft as the second round nears the end!
