The Newark Bulldogs made the only last minute trade deadline move by acquiring former defensive player of the year, Julio Wheeler. Mind you, Wheeler was honored 5yrs ago with that designation. Now, as a 9 year vet, Wheeler finds himself 1 step slower and grasping at the opportunity to get himself a ring. Wheeler finds himself on the Bulldogs after spending his previous years in beautiful Vancouver. The city has been the only thing great about his time there. Multiple ownerships have somewhat clouded the Killer Whales vision and have left Wheeler as just an asset. The current ownership group has a plan and is moving in the right direction. A direction that will have long term success.
Also, the Bulldogs also made a minor move by signing FA Sammy Knabe. Knabe was signed due to the recent struggles of current Bulldogs K Butch Schultz. Time will tell who will take over as the full time kicker. Released was all around good guy Korey Boyer
