Fresno Bee - Have the Warthogs went mad? Fresno landed the second biggest free agent in the 2016 offseason with a 2 year 40m offer to OLB Lawrence Maggard. The biggest of course was the 2 year 52m contract Viper GM r00k gave to QB Jon Cavazos. The bidding was insane for Lawrence he knocked back a more than 50m contract to come to the only team in the IFL never to make the playoffs. Warthog GM Kobeck was all smiles when he called the pressconference at 8:15 pm tonight to announce the signing. "Fresno had immediate needs and no early draft picks to address them. One huge need was at OLB. At least that one need has been filled by this signing."
When reached for comment Maggard said "I have been in a Wolfpack for my whole IFL career. There were contract disputes dating back to 2012, but in the end taking the insane guranteed 20 million in Fresno was just something I had too do to feed my family."
In other Warthog news some other OLB named Wally Stanton brings two Imperial Bowl rings with him to Fresno.
