Tulsa Announces Lifetime Contract For DH

Tulsa announced today, on the eve of the 2015 season, the signing of running back Ken "DH" Singleton. The contract is essentially a lifetime deal. It runs for 5 seasons and is for a reportedly $45.43 million. The team is excited that DH decided to play out his career in Tulsa. GM Tarcone had this to say about the signing "We are extremely excited to keep the greatest running back the IFL has ever seen in Tulsa. We offered a deal that we felt was very fair to Kenny and he agreed right away.We expect him to break many records wearing the yellow and black."
Singleton is estatic about the deal "When Tulsa approached me at the end of preseason, I knew I would lijme to stay. But the offer the came to the table with blew me away. My family is set for life. And a job after I retire is the icing on the cake. I love this organization and am proud to wear the TigerHawk on my helmet everyday."
Fans of the team have made the TigerHawk 22 the hottest selling jersey in the IFL and are extremely happy to be able to watch Singleton play out his career in Tulsa.

Case of take the money and run? Tulsa won it all but DH's individual skill started to decline right after this signing, right?

Bingo! He will be good for 2 more seasons. Which is good. I will eat the bonus in the last year of his contract.

I just Thought of this. With the new TV contract going up 5 mil per season, that covers DHs raise next season. So really Im ok.

Doyle did the same thing, stat wise. After racking up 35tkls 11sks 25hurries in 2015, he opted out of his rookie contract and held out for a new one. I begrudgingly signed him to a "league leader" contract at 3yrs, $33,030,000.
He followed that up with a disappointing 2016 campaign seemingly disappearing during entire games last year and only got 8 sacks.

I always wondered if Jim put in a motivation factor for new contracts in the code. It's realistic that's for sure.
