We lost 17-10 this week to a very good West Virginia ball club. Gerald Sanders, arguably the best quarterback in the IFL, taught Tobias Stanfield that it's not about racking up yards but instead holding onto the ball and getting your team into the endzone that produces victories.
Our defense held Sanders to 190 passing yards which is a number the coaching staff is actually very pleased with considering our current secondary situation (one of injury and of just plain lack of talent) however those 190 were all he needed to get the ball into the endzone two times, enough alone to beat us.
Were it not for an interception thrown in the Beasts' redzone the outcome might have been different. Not throwing INT's simply must move up Tobias's priority list!
Although Eddie Gonzalez was held to his lowest yardage total so far this season we're not worried about that as we never had a chance nor had we ever intended to open up our running game on West Virginia.
Up next is division rival and fellow celler dweller Burlington. If we're to make a post-season appearance one would have to think we need to win this next game to springboard us into contention.....
