Today we sit with the 3rd guest in our ever-growing segment Better Know an IFL District!, the original original, the founder of it all, the man who's owed our thanks and praise and a lifetime supply of Americone Dream, the Big Daddy Toad himself: Cringer!
Cringer is of course the ringmaster of that special team from the Little Rock: The Fightin' Toads!
SC: Your team is down at the moment. Will we see a 2015 uprising or are Toads' fans staring at another long 17 weeks?
C: Things will be better, but there are plenty of areas to fine tune. The QB position needs experience, though I am happy with our choices there. Pass rush was a disappointment, so I think that needs upgrading. A more competitive team is the goal, kind of what I had in mind for this season which didn't come to fruition.
SC: Quickly perusing your stats for exploitable nuances with which to slander you I see that it appears as though your defense is playing at a high level and it's merely the offense and perhaps special teams holding you back. Is this true or simply what the numbers say?
C: The defense has done well, though as a I said before the pass rush needs to improve. The offense has some problems, mainly inexperience in my mind. The talent is there and will develop to be much better then what was seen this year. The only area on offense I have a true concern about is the o-line. The running game did well, but the o-line still gives me concerns despite that.
SC: Joel Lysne: Tip of the Hat or Wag of the Finger as the Toads #1 receiver for seasons to come?
C: Tip of the Hat, clearly. We liked his production in what became a more run focused offense and short passing game to cover for the inexperience at QB.
SC: Turning to something a little more heated...
SC: Who stings the most replacing you as NC South representatives: Tulsa or Texas?
C: I thought the league said whoever was atop the so-called official NC South standings only qualified as a wild card team? That's what I heard anyways. They can suck it though, the Toads reign supreme in the South.
SC: Woah! You kiss your wife with that mouth? This isn't cable.
SC: We recently saw the 2009 Nathan's Famous Hot Dog eating contest. If any member of the Toads, yourself included, were to join an eating contest who would it be and what food would be the target of this brave Toad?
C: KR/CB Lawrence Wiggins, his speed translates over to eating as well. He prefers frog legs.
SC: Turning to that other conference, who are your favorite 3 AC teams and why?
C: Mules are far and away my favorites, not only in the standings over the last few years but also because of the logo, uniform, colors, and so many interesting players through the years. Second would be Norfolk simply because you have to respect their success. Third would be Montreal because I as well as our fans still love Ralph Given and hopefully he sticks around and gets them to the playoffs next year.
SC: As always to end the interview: If you could stand in front of the IFL and make one insightful point. What would it be?
C: Hang on, hopefully the league (meaning FOF, the game) will have a some changes coming our way to reinvigorate things.
SC: Who knows? There might be some truthiness to all your ranting jibberish when all the cards are revealed.
