Breaking News: Stanfield Stalemate in Lawrence...

We've just received word that IFL Bowl MVP Tobias Stanfield is both refusing to sign a new contract with the Lawrence Phantoms due to past injustices and holding out in spite of his current franchise tag.

Calls to Phantoms' Headquarters were not immediately returned. Stay tuned for updates to this situation as they become available.

No doubt moved by the progress shown by 3rd year QB Roderick Amos over the off-season as evident by his performance in the Phantoms 1st pre-season game, Tobias has informed the team of his intention to play in pre-season week 3. However, GM Jester Blaze, doesn't see it so simply:

"We've had a training camp and already started playing the 2014 season with a great quarterback in Roderick Amos. This isn't an after work league where you make it if you can make it. We got lucky that Tobias waited until he did to hold out. What if he decided one single game earlier and sat out the IFL Bowl?"

"At this point he better hope we - or someone else - have a spot for him!"

Another great pre-season game by Roderick Amos and some Phantom players are rumored to have said the kid is ready for the keys as soon as management decides to give them to him.

What seemed impossible only weeks ago might become reality by week 1: Two-time and reigning IFL Bowl MVP Tobias Stanfield might simply not be the best QB on the roster for the Phantoms!
